Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

A nice chasing debut. Doesn't look the biggest but jumped well apart from where he looked to peck on landing - it was a poor camera angle so not certain he even did that.

Not sure they will send him further as Willie will want 2-3 in each race …..only has FV at mo for this…so IET obvious second string? He’s not been further yet

Think lot depends on GW & if he def goes Turners

      • The quality of horse is a mixed bag WPM sends to this but it's worth noting how tricky Thurles is for a debutant. UDS, Bachasson + Montalbano all fell for WPM at short prices.

Ho My Lord ran promising, and i remember WPM was pretty positive about him at times last year- "he'd have enough ability for it" when talking about the Ballymore. Wheels did fall off there though.

At this stage stepping back probably wouldn't be an issue, but I can see him getting done for a turn of foot if they remain at 2 miles at the DRF. Now they've got him to settle he'd been seen best over a bit further IMO. Who knows though, a lot of racing to be done between now and then.

          • Paul T re Il Etait ….,

"He was very manageable which was a pleasant surprise and he has a lot more respect for fences than hurdles. He used to bring a hurdle with him but I thought he jumped brilliantly on the whole today.

"We went a good even gallop with a good horse leading and he showed a good turn of foot from the back of the last.

"He is more professional and has more options over fences because he is maturing. He had been a difficult ride over hurdles so your hands were tied but you can do what you want with him over fences.

"Hopefully he will be an Arkle type - we went a good strong pace, he has a good cruising speed and stays too."

Agree about How My Lord, looked the best jumper in the race to me and ran on well for second.

Yeah i mean he's clearly got ability, drifted to 16s in a place at Leop on hurdle debut when falling, to go off 5/2f

The 2nd in KDs race never ran in a graded race and the 3rd didnt run outside a maiden.

I dont disagree about the jumping and we dont know about the switch until KD does the same against better level horses over fences.
The only thing i took exception to was the chase debut being more impressive. I liked it but I couldnt agree it was better bar maybe the visuals on jumping.
But at the end of the day I fancy i could go around on the bridle in a 100m low hurdle race against my granny and it would look pretty decent. Send me around against my brothers and see how good it looks ha.

And after all that i actually like KD, havent backed him for Chelt but hope he turns out a top chaser.
Hope you are keeping well Kev!
                    Yes really well thats KingSprinterSacre

To go back to this, I think I'm very much in the minority, I caught a bit of Upping The Ante and they were absolutely gushing over Gaelic Warrior's debut, saying it was right up there with the best they've seen

They mentioned Klassical Dream's later too saying it was excellent, but the way they went on about GW, I'd say you are more likely right than I am!

I remember the last time you and I had a mini debate. You made the case for Black Tears for the Mares hurdle for something to take on Concertista with while i made the case for Dame De Compagnie. That didnt end up too well for me so pay not much heed to what I say Kevloaf!!

                      • Probably a question for the silly question thread but will ask here.

I Am Maximus is declared for Drinmore novice chase this Sunday. He won last year's Irish National. How does he still qualify as a novice chaser for 23/24 and how long can he be a novice chaser after winning in April 23?

End of the year his novice status is removed, I believe.
