I think he'd be foolish not to give it a go tbh... Seeing as he's a sure fire chasing prospect you might as well give him a go as the festival over hurdles.

He's 100% correct to target Aintree, imo. That race is made for him.

seems to be better suited by a flat track
Nicholls is one of the best National Hunt trainers ever but he seems to have a host of horses that fall into this bracket

I'm a little surprised to hear PN's comments today.
It's not like him to admit defeat. I dont think he ever has in the past ?
I'm happy in a way as I haven't got him covered in the stayers but on the other hand I also feel a little disappointed we dont get to see him at the festival.
Clearly has huge ability and defo one to look out for in the future.
King George type maybe ?

But, for me, he is our top trainer for “giving it a go” more often than not, and to actually not give it a go in the Stayers first, is disappointing.
I recall a Dan Skelton interview in recent weeks where he said that he spoke to Paul Nicholls, who told him, if he was ever in two minds on a horse and a big race target, that he should give it a go, and don’t leave the race not knowing if a horse could have won it.
Nuff said, he doesn’t do as he says all of the time"Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Just doesn't think mcfabulous stays well enough to reverse the form
