No less than 20/1 anywhere that I can see for various races... form with some of the fancied horses and general form this year is decent.
Think they'll just let him run in the Gold Cup now. Owners are keen and he owes them nothing. Why not ?

    • Been told that Vinndication will be entered for this race and could end up here if they can’t get a Gold Cup prep run in over fences after his fall at Newbury

      • I'd expect several staying chasers might at least get an initial entry next week.

        • The Stayers is the obvious route to take.

I recall Gordon saying that he chose the Grade 1 hurdle at Christmas because the Savills chase was too competitive for The Storyteller.

I would assume that their view of the Gold Cup is the same, too competitive for the horse.

His run in his first Grade 1 Hurdle to finish 2nd, running on from the back after the winner had been given a long lead, and had gone, was proof that he could hold his own in a Stayers Hurdle.

          • The Storyteller not entered for the Gold Cup.

Suppose that means he's most likely to turn up in the Stayers - assuming he makes the trip over. 20-1 nrnb with PP is decent.

I’m generally against handicappers when they try & step up to graded level but of him & sire du berlais he’s definitely be the one I’d prefer and even more so at the prices. 20s NRNB is very fair IMO.

                • Champ would be the main one

If his prep run goes badly they might consider it

                      • Entries don't close until next week and will probably be released a week today.

                        • Vindication getting an entry here and in the RP the trainer says entry made in case he can’t get a GC prep, 66/1 or 40/1 nrnb but I was hoping he might be in the exchange market to back him small at triple figures or so.

                          • PN post race today on Mcfab,: MCFABULOUS will have an entry for the Stayers' Hurdle in case it falls apart but I would say we'll keep him fresh for Aintree. The two and a half miles there would suit him well because he isn't short of boot. He wasn't beaten too far at Newbury but I'm not convinced I want to give him a hard race against those horses at Cheltenham and I can't see how we can beat Paisley Park and Thyme Hill. He is going to be a super chaser. I see him as one to come back here for the Kauto Star on Boxing Day. Three miles over fences at Kempton would be perfect for him - winning trainer Paul Nicholls

I thought he looked good today and whilst iv'e not really been a big fan to date over an intermediate trip he will take some beating.

He looks a king George winner in waiting

Makes complete sense for me. He had a cracking at the big two over 3m and it didn't work out.

Can't wait to see him over a fence! Incredible ability.
