I agree with Kev 100%.
But in aid of Lobos's case for Sire du Berlais.
Although he's a seasoned handicapper, he's arguably only ever been trained to try and win on three occasions.
All at Cheltenham, finishing fourth and two wins over course and distance.
He may have tried @ aintree the season before last and got beat also. But I am completely guessing on this, any which way you look at
it.
Aside from that, this debate reminds me of when I drunkenly got off the train to Birmingham from Cheltenham a couple of years ago and got stranded in a deserted station. Proper panic, once I realised. After tormenting the Police on the emergency button at the station for half an hour and threatened with arrest, I remembered I could google for a taxi on my phone.
The taxi driver who rescued me, had his radio on and was listening to a weird talk show. For some reason, probably related to the talk show, he mentioned he believed the Earth was flat !!
Fucking wrong person to say that too at that time in a morning.
I wouldn't let it lie.
Kev, Lobos is your Taxi driver.

Fury Road and Thyme Hill were novice hurdlers, so haven't achieved their peak ratings yet. I know that they'll achieve higher ratings in open company unless they regress, that is how the ratings and natural progression works. I've backed them as in my opinion (and actually it's fact) that they're clearly open to improvement more so than SDB is.
Also I have backed them as I clearly think they're better value, and I'll be disappointed if they aren't rated higher than Sire Du Berlais by the end of next season.
I'd suggest, a better definition of madness is to consider a horse that is exposed as a handicapper that is rated inferior, will improve again to be better than the open class hurdlers and also better than the novices coming in to the division. The horse I've backed is rated higher, on absolute merit. At the same price, you're the one with something to prove and less actual reasons for the progression to appear.
One of your worst ever arguements, stop wasting my time. You don't post your bets openly like the rest of us do, so stop telling everyone who you've backed in every single thread too, it has no credibility and doesn't add anything of worth.

I think sire du berlais could probably win the pertemps again no? Will have a lofty rating but them 2 were well clear this year the pair of em could go again..i agree with kevloaf..id be more inclined to back the improvers but not fury road for me which sounds stupid but id rather thyme hill..those write ups i posted in the albert bartlett fred i think the guy was bang on talking about thyme hills unlucky finish if hed of got room and didnt run into trouble hed of actually won by a length or 2 IMO

I've backed TH myself but if they were to run in a match tomorrow I know who my money would be on.https://scooby91horseracingtips.com/

SDB has never ever shown form that makes him better than a handicapper. Ever. And he’s going into his 9 year old season. Winning a handicap two years in a row, even with the latter being off top weight, does nothing to show that he’s a Grade 1 horse. It shows he can carry weight in a handicap and has the touch of class you need to win a race like that off 152. But it certainly does not show that he’s going to be competitive in a Grade 1 the following year not show some unrecognisable improvement at the grand old age of 9. He’s so known to be a handicapper that he’s never even ran in a graded race as they know his level.
As well as that, he’s won 3 of 15 in his career. 1 of which was in France many years ago. The other two being the Pertemps. I would make him long odds on to be in the Pertemps again.
