Hello Fat Jockeys,

  • What did people think about Thomas Darby performance today? 66/1 is still available? Could be one for a place at a decent price?
I know Mcfabulous was very much in command & cruising home but he seemed to stay on well. I believe i saw at the start of the season olly murphy say he is aiming for the stayers?

    • McFabulous has had one go at 3M and finished 3rd, being beaten late on by the strong fav and 2nd fav for the Stayers.

Though it looked like his stamina ebbed away late on, for me, one run isn’t enough to draw stumps on the trip, particularly as theres only one mid-trip Grade 1, and that’s in April.

Surely they didn’t spend a whole season hurdling to skip Cheltenham, and then wait until April to try a Grade 1!

Waiting until Aintree unfortunately ended up in the bin last year, for all concerned.

If the horse is fit and well at the 5-day decs for the Stayers, and the ground isn’t swampy, I would be disappointed if they didn’t leave him in, and then make an final assessment at the 48-hour final decs.

Kept on really well after looking like being well beaten at one stage. Definitely worth a go at 3m but that looks like being at Aintree rather than Cheltenham according to Olly. I backed him at 66s earlier in the season but will probably be cashing out. Can’t find the comment now but definitely suggested Aintree was the plan!!

Cashed mine out as could get out with minimum loss.

I like the horse but I just couldn’t have him placing at all. Paisley Park, Thyme Hill, Fury Road, SDB, The Storyteller (potentially) and the young horse who won in Ireland that I can’t remember!

          • If i owned McFabulous i would take a chance in the stayers incase the race ends up like a crawl as per Penhill’s one when he won as you never know what might happen on the day and during the race, what if Cheltenham is on but then Aintree is off again? Unlikely perhaps but might be a missed chance seeing he will be novice chasing also next season.

            • Id keep him for Aintree myself

Hard to see how he could reverse the form with thyme hill and paisley park at a stiffer track

And he would likely end up having a hard race and then not be at his best for Aintree

              • Paul Nicholls knows, he trained big bucks. Can’t win the stayers and looking forward to him chasing.

                • I can't see him reversing the form either, especially at Cheltenham, can see him cruising into contention then getting left behind up the hill. Looking forward to seeing him chasing next season, like others have said.

Can’t see him turning up in the stayers

If he does he is a definite lay in running bet

Who cares if they win at aintree unless it’s the GN. Without cheating, name the last 3 aintree hurdle winners.... I could only remember 1 without looking.

Agree. If he's not a Cheltenham horse, he's not a Cheltenham horse. Straight to Aintree he goes.

Lami serge and supasundae were two as I was on them both

The jumps season cant be so Cheltenham centric that finishing 3rd or 4th in a stayers is better than winning a grade 1 at Aintree

                            What do I win?
