  • Cant see benie running here

Mullins will run her in whatever race he thinks she has the best chance of winning I'd think mares hurdle is heavy fav

Even the mares chase is an option for her, it sounds unlikely but willie loves a winner and it may end up being a much easier option than taking on honeysuckle or coming here

    • Would think the mares chase she would win hard held, so maybe she will run in that ? i If she goes MH i think Honey beats her by a few length's ......

      • Id imagine it may depend on how his other mares chase candidates get on

        • I backed Benie for Mares chase early but with the news that she is likely to go to the Fez without a run, I very much doubt she'll run in that race as she hasn't jumped a fence in public for several years. It'll be too risky. Very tempted to cash out.

though it was his only win of the season and a borderline fluke with PP having those serious health issues during the race
            So he did!

I would have to lean more towards it being a freak result rather than him being fantastic though

            Lose-lose for me haha

            • Nicholls says Mcfabulous will run in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury next to see if he's good enough to run in the Stayers Hurdle. If he fails he'll go chasing.

A new star, I take it you've written Paisley off completely then? just remember how short he was for this race last year even with a couple of new improvers to challenge if he proves it was a one off he's still the on to beat.

Not sure about Paisley now. You can pick holes in most of his best form and along with his health issues potentially returning he's not one I want onside.

Whilst it's undoubtedly been a poor division this last few years you'll have to enlighten me on these holes,as prior to the heart issue he has beaten all he could. You're basically hoping one of these new stars are going to be high 160 horses as if they ain't and Paisley returns like before(risky potentially granted) then it wont be good enough.

                      • Not to be sarcastic but what holes do you want to pick in Paisleys Park form? maybe in your head you might think he just beat up some poor under par fields but you go through the list of horses he’s beaten and he was head and shoulders above some classy opponents, many horses have come back from an irregular heart beat so it’s not even on my mind as a hindrance to his capabilities

                        • For what it’s worth my position on The stayers hurdle is Paisley Park win, Fury Road and Sire Du Berlais each way

                          • My current 1/2/3 (without Benie) would be Mcfabulous/Sire de Berlais/Thyme Hill

                            • Think Fury Road is being overlooked here. 3rd in the AB and looked like he came to win jumping the last. Should improve again this year too. Can’t have Hobbs horses at Cheltenham after last year with what happened to Defi & Sporting John.

                              • PP did put up two top performances in Jan and March 2019, registering “a stone” of improvement, and RPR’s of 172 and 170.
                                unforgettable races, superb stuff.

The form of his three runs since (RPR’s 161, 162, 154) would be very beatable by an average Stayers winner, so the question would be.....
can he reach the form of those two runs in Q1-2019 again?

The rest of his form is not close to that two-race peak, and is beatable.

Sire du Berlais’ win in the Pertemps has a better RPR (164) than anything PP has achieved outside of those two win in Jan/March 2019.
