  • Taking Roseys Hollow out of it..... the Mullins camp have to be disappointed.

Royal Kahala has beaten Gauloise and Hook Up, fairly.

It's not a vintage year for Willie.

Agreed Kev, probably been for the last couple of years though I’d say now? Last year the pick of his runners on SP was Colreevy, beaten twice in three starts that season, and the winner hadn’t shown anything really since finishing second the previous year (although the form of the DRF mares handicap behind black tears probably ended up being better than most thought at the time!). 2019 he looked like drawing a total blank, his shortest pricer runner 13/2 and the rest wild prices, and still managed to land the 1-2

Statements like ‘x horse would be half the price if it was trained by Willie Mullins’ are a bit fashionable, but it’s hard to deny that whatever his training methods are, clearly make a proper tangible difference to a horses chances in this race, on what we’ve seen so far id say Gauloise and hook up are probably both knocking on the door of being quality enough to win this, and neither would have to take a *huge* step forward. Aside from RK & roseys hollow, there wouldn’t be many mares shown anything better yet this season, and both of those 2 will be wrong at the weights with the aforementioned Mullins pair come Cheltenham and both have question marks over whether they will actually travel over

Comments from Fahey about RK possibly skipping festival and going for the grade 1 mares novice race at the Easter festival instead, and trainer of roseys hollow was interviewed in after race Said something alone lines of unsure if Cheltenham be on the agenda decide nearer time after speaking to jp only had one runner at the festival before

          • ToniC why would RK be at the wrong weight for Chelts compared with Gauloise and Hook Up? I didn’t think she was due a penalty? I thought both Gauloise and RK were due a 9lb swing in the weights with RH from the Solerina?

You are correct mate. I wrongly thought the race she beat hook up in was a graded event.

phew! I thought I’d miscalculated in convincing myself that a reversal with RH would be on the cards at Chelts. I still think RK is a very decent bet at 7/1 NRNB.

To be fair Kev, she did win whilst having a wind problem during the race, Not many horses do that. I think she’s interesting.

                            • Atlantic Fairy could be a decent each way play in this ?

Not widely quoted, was very impressive at Limerick last time

Henry good with the mares and doesn’t seem to have anything else lined up for it

1 point each way at 33s in the hope she wins well today

I know she is entered in the Ballymore and Bartlett but this is more winnable in a wide open renewal

                                covered the Antepost bet today

however, looks an out and out stayer so unlikely they will want to come back in trip
