Delvino beat Rosey Hollow by 7.5 L. and Royal Kahala beat Delvino by 13L, If Royal Kahala does go to Cheltenham I think she's a good thing and in the event she dosen't then Hook Up is the one for me.
If racing worked like that there would be no betting on it, early season jump form isnt worth the paper its printed on, see Apples Jade. Elite form is established at the festival in elite racing, that's why festival form trumps everything else. You dont get championship gallops at Thurles in December.

They know fine well who their mares novice horse is, despite the soundbites.

Is it just the Arkle and Mares Novice Chase you have a strong opinion in?

As someone who has said they are a big flat fan, are you not interested in what's going on in UAE? We could learn something.

I'm surprised, at someone with such a strong view on two horses, you have nothing else to say? A few posts in the Albert Bartlett and then in one specific members ante post diary seems unusual for someone with such strong opinions, especially as those opinions are on the verification process

Yes, top class horses at good value dont grow on trees. I have some decent horses who i didnt want to aftertime prices on and are no longer value. Ashdale Bob the exception due to his fall hence i did mention him on the Bartlett thread.

Have you seen the results at Meydan? Mugs game betting on that this early, and i dont have any top class US horses im interested in Antepost this season. Last year i was very strong on Maximum Security at 10s for the World Cup and Shancelot for the Shaheen at 6s, but the Servis/Navarro et al drug case broke after Saudi and then convid started.

Contrail at 5/2 for the Dubai Turf would look good if he turned up on the night but given current climate backing a Japanese horse to run in Dubai in 2 months time looks mental, the price is also too short to get excited about. Charlatan has never looked like a 10f horse, and id be very surprised if Knicks Go turned up after Saudi, these juice horses tend to need regular breaks. I was suspicious when Servis said DWC was not confirmed for Maximum Security after winning in Saudi as it looked like millions of pounds sitting in the street, but the timing has to be right for the recovery and the cycle for horses to be at peak and drugs out of the system etc.

It was an open secret with Servis and Navarro, and now Brad Cox, banning trainers is missing the root problem which is likely high level corruption on the official side, they just move the juice to someone else and the party continues.

          • I dont have a KY Derby horse yet, it was Authentic last year if you want on to dig on Not606 to verify, youll find Love at 20s for both classics as well. I like a couple for the uk classics but the prices will still be there in 2 months, one in particular i think is a serious horse and has been underrated, i think he could be champion 3yo. Will do a post on him at somepoint, haven't even checked the rest of the forum yet outside the Cheltenham part.

            • So who's camp are we all in tomorrow then? Gauloise @ 5/4 & Royal Kahala @ 9/4
Do we think those prices are about right? I do, seems fair to me. At those prices I am in camp RK and think it will win and this market will be in for a shake up

              • I think the ground may slightly favour Gauloise tomorrow IF there’s any racing at all - although RK has heavy ground form, either way it will be a good race and should go some way as to determining who’s at the head of the market come
                March

                also 15/8 available not 5/4

                • Not a fan of Gauloise especially at the prices so I'd favour Royal Kahala. However it looks a very strong race and I really like Delvino so if give her another chance along with Castra Vetera and Roses Hollow that all came from the same maiden hurdle. Combination forecasts on those 3 will probably be how I play it.

                  • RK should be fav for me, but Josephs and the JP horse are biggish IMO. Very tricky race.

                    • I’m sticking with Gauloise, there’s so many horses (Envoi) that just do enough and win cosily. I’m not for one second comparing her to EA

The comments from PT after her debut was what impressed me as well as the performance. Soon as he gave her a slap down the neck she put the race to bed.

This will obviously be the biggest test tomorrow and it’s a very tough race, Royal Kahala will be very tough to beat!

                          Form: 1-11

"This looks a very hot renewal. My mare put in a good performance last time at Thurles but will need to improve again to beat Royal Kahala on a track she’s clearly very happy on. It’s a big step up in class taking on what looks one of the best novice hurdling mares in Ireland right now." - Willie Mullins

Not particularly positive. Annoyed someone talked me out of Royal Kahala when she opened up 5/2 for tomorrow

                          • I expected Gauloise to be about 7/4, quite surprised that the market ended up such a 2 horse affair but there was a few who havent turned up.

Mullins talking up Royal Kahala and every man and their dog wants to be on her, something that always worries me when i like one so happy to see it.

Royal Kahala obviously has everything in her favour here with bottomless ground at Fairyhouse, its a must win for her with regards to going to Cheltenham rather than targetting the more suitable Mares final over 2m4 at Fairyhouse. She needed a mistake at the last and hook up to fall in a hole over half a furlong further last time so id he shocked if Gauloise didnt open up on her at some stage, and i dont see her collapsing after the last like Hook Up.

Id be surprised if Gauloise doesn't start clear favourite when the serious money starts getting traded, despite the overnight action being one way traffic against her. Looking forward to it, should be very informative.

Seems odd pricing in view of the money around at this point for RK tomorrow. I'm with Energumene on this one though in that I to think they'll smash into Gauloise by the off tomorrow and that she'll comfortably win. She'd then go very short for this with any further challengers very hard to find. For me she has everything you could possibly want in a Novice Mares Winner.
