Was disappointed when he unseated but was well happy with how he jumped after and 'won' the race. Was as good as you could ask for after a horse chucking his jockey off. Ended up a half decent prep!

Didn't push him out enough did they to back him at the current price?

          Nope

Surely get 2/1-5/2 on the day as long as energumene gets there fine.

Will need to assess when and if he runs again before the fez, I'm sure the bookies will be skinny on his next run

The plan was to run him at Newbury in the Game Spirit in Feb.
I would imagine that’s still the case as he seems to be fine.

I always think of famous grouse when I hear that race mentioned.

                • Blue Lord is an interesting one.
I am thinking he deserves a crack in this now, but I do think this may well depend on how Energ and Allaho are doing.
Think this may well be a late decision.
I would be very interested in him if he were to run in Ryanair with no Allaho.

Strike while the British division is poor. Could have one of Willies lot and Jonbon going for the same races next year as him.

Probably meets Energumene at Ascot though.

To be fair he was kept busy last season, may just be a horse who gets het up in his box ?
And his form didn't drop off last season, may well have been over the top for Aintree but that was his 7th run in 4 months.
I certainly wouldn't see his upcoming schedule as a negative for those who like him for the Champion Chase and no doubt Kingy wants a confidence booster in the horse...

Oh yes, no problem with it, he takes his races well.
                          Trainer knows what he’s doing.

Would be fabulous if that happened. Love these Quality match ups ! Willie did say he was frightened of Edwardstone (in so many words) so let's see who's number 1.

                            • Would love to see horses winning Championship Races having been campaigned busily! The trend of 2 (or less!) runs is pants.

                              • Energumene into 8/11 now. When did that happen!!??

I went through his entire form earlier......was quite surprised how little he's beat over the years and the ones he has beat haven't exactly franked the form since. Is he just one of those that's been very well placed ? The Champion Chase last year was a complete walkover for him and he did get beat by Shishkin prior to that which doesn't look at all great now. Is he a false price?
