I'm not disputing what they said, it just doesn't make it fact.

What would they/anyone have said about Appreciate It? He'd been beaten over 2m in the bumper, and everyone assumed either Ballymore or Albert Bartlett.

Ignoring the Supreme because Mark Howard didn't name-check it when he wrote a book in the summer, is not of relevance to me.

I wouldn't even consider him in the Albert Bartlett given he's starting out in his 2nd ever race tomorrow, at 2m, and Cheltenham is 8 weeks away.

Never gonna happen. I could rule it out - then again, it's just zero risk so no harm done. I won't be though...... Supreme and Ballymore NRNB seem much more sensible options.

Agree with all that Kev, I certainly wasn’t suggesting ignoring him for the Supreme as already backed him for that and the Ballymore, it was more about whether the AB was potentially more likely than the Supreme (out of the 2 with Ballymore most likely), but your analysis makes sense to me so will likely leave the AB even though NRNB as there is only so much money I want to tie up.

Update: See Kev has now covered for the AB so have decided to do the same win only...haha

Yeah I changed my mind this morning as he's now 3/10 rather than in a match.
I still think it's the least likely of the 3 to be fair but having been wrong often enough for no risk I've flipped on my own point

          • Racing post Dec 2019.....Bloodstock report on Gallyhill..."He's a lovely horse, an outstanding horse," enthused Knight. "I can't say who he's been bought for or who might train him, but he'll stay here in England. I've known all about this horse for a long time, I've followed him right the way through. He's a big horse but he's so athletic, so light on his feet. He's a very good jumper too, though he won't do much this year."

Supreme and Ballymore NRNB is the way for me.

I'm not sure I could name a horse that's ever even had a run at Hereford though. I wasn't even aware they had a track (no disrespect intended, my own ignorance I'm sure!) so in terms of form I wouldn't be using it as a boost - one of those I chalk down as just "not a negative" rather than a positive.

I once met some Hereford fans in Sheffield who were up to play one of the Sheffield teams in the cup. They found it hilarious that their logo had a bull on it....so in their honour, the first (and possibly last) time I've seen the BULL emoji used properly...
Kev, maybe you've heard of one or two of these horses who have run at Hereford?

1983 Champion Hurdler Gaye Brief began his career by winning a hurdle race at Hereford in November 1981.

1994 Champion Hurdler Flakey Dove finished second in a bumper at Hereford in April 1990.

1997 Champion Hurdler Make A Stand won a novice hurdle at Hereford in May 1996.

1982 Gold Cup winner Silver Buck won a race at Hereford

1983 Gold Cup winner Bregawn won at Hereford

1986 Grand National winner West Tip won a handicap chase at Hereford in 1985 and followed up by winning the Ritz (now the Ultima) at the Festival before falling at Bechers second time round when looking like the winner of that year's National.

                  Now turning to football........

Hereford United have had a bull on the club badge for as long as I can remember in honour of the world-renowned Hereford cattle breed.

Before every big match at Edgar Street a prize Hereford bull would always be paraded around the ground and some fans would plant a swede in the centre circle (don't ask me why, presumably the rural nature of the county).

I speak as a lifelong fan who was standing on the Meadow End terrace when Ronnie Radford scored the epic goal which helped the Southern League outfit knock mighty Newcastle United out of the Cup in 1972.

                  • nortonscoin200 Great knowledge that

I went to the second meeting the track re-opened, complete sellout, lovely track but then I think most are, but as another tight right handed track it clearly differs from Cheltenham so there won’t be many horses with the make up to win at both...

                      Phelan's "dossier":

however, I spoke to Noel and he said the horse is not a flashy customer and will do the minimum required to win a race. He rode the horse in schooling races and he maintained if the horse received a proper gallop to aIack, then he would look like the real deal.

Well Phelan's ground work with Noel McParlan was correct here.....jeez he looks a right lazy sort.

Very much so. I cant see him going Cheltenham tbh. All about next season and chasing for him

Probably right to be honest. Doesn't seem like the type to throw in yet.
