  • No Materson Hurdle entry for forum favourite Goshen!
I could have sworn Moore was starting him off here.

He changed his mind and going to Wincanton for the Elite Hurdle, in early November.

Shouldn't this be in the County Hurdle thread rather than Champion Hurdle?

A couple of runs for a 150 mark.

The way the Moores are training him, could sneak into that on bottom weight

I hope Goshen keeps drifting so I can do a full u-turn and start making a case for him.

Saint Roi is too short at 7/1, that is silly

As much as I dislike Goshen, I'm in the same boat LOL... hope he becomes a forgotten horse, drifts right out to 16/1 - 20/1's. Real testing conditions on the day, jockey has nothing to loose, goes full out and none of them can reel him in

He'd have to hit 16/1+ for me to even consider it and he'd have to do something atrocious to hit that price, which will in turn probably make it a bad bet even at that price

                      • It’s great to be able to spot bad prices like Goshen, and cross them off.

It should mean value lurks elsewhere, though there are several at short prices in the race already, c/w virtually every other Grade 1 at the Festival.

Spot on. I saw Goshen @ 4/1 as a godsend for that market. He was a terrible price and still is IMO

                          • Goshen is one I've ruled out from the beginning.

I doubt he'll impress me during the Winter.

But he's also one that, if he's declared for the Champion hurdle. I'll start remembering his run in the triumph and the style of it and worry a bit. Hopefully he's appropriately priced by then.

                            • I've topped on Saldier @ 22/1. Just re watched the Morgiana and without looking too impressive he's won that easily. I love the way he devoured the second last then turning in it looks like Sharjah might mount a challenge, then he just kicks on, jumps low and fast and does the business. Will hopefully stay sound this year and be Mullins number 1.

And as was discussed in here last week, Saldier was around 7/2 fav for the Champion Hurdle prior to his injury so he clearly impressed plenty of people and has been largely forgotten since.

I’m not sure what accs you have/don’t have but he looks a general 25/1 and there’s a few quid at 27/28/29 on betfair so you should be able to get better than 22/1...
