Brilliant, thanks again, sad news for the horse, but much better for us punters that the news gets out like this rather than suddenly appearing on the home page of attheraces in terms of being able to cashout

          • Thank you for the heads up. Was able to cash out.
Disappointing for the connections, hopefully the horse recovers well

            • Terrible news just as he was embarking on a potentially huge season, fair play Spectre not on myself but for giving folks a chance to get out

              • We certainly won’t be rushing him and it will be a very steady process but Hannah knows him better than any of us so we’ll take it step by step and gradually build him back up towards attempting to win a third Unibet Champion Hurdle
Not exactly a revelation but buveur dair confirmed champion hurdle target

                    • Goshen has an entry at Haydock on Saturday in a Class 2 0-105 Handicap over 1M6F.

At a handicap rating of 88 he is joint bottom weight of the 15 entries.

Holds two entries on that card, either way something for people to get excited about.

Will be great to see the champion hurdle winner run fingers crossed. seriously i cant see this boy getting beat , an absolute freak of a horse like been said numerous times . in my opinion i didnt rate last seasons champion hurdle even though i had winner epatante who was a big winner for me , just didnt scream vintage year to my eye.

Taking the angle that none of last years champion hurdle horses wont even place , i have put race down to three horses all coming from seperate races from last festival.

                          Goshen (triumph)
                          Abracadabra (supreme)
                          Saint Roi (county)

Can see Goshen jumping out and getting everything out of comfort zone before they even turn in. Ive played on other two to small saving wagers but Goshen will take the beating in my opinion.

                          • Ive backed goshen but he isnt my champion hurdle winner, the more i look at it..im baffled that aba is double his price..would mean you would pretty much have goshen winning the supreme if he ran in it? I dont think so

All about how we all judge the form lines , those two races were run on different tracks and Champion will play to Goshens running style even better in my opinion.

I’m not sure about him being better on the old course. In fact I’d say the opposite is more likely. Usually Triumph horses want further and end up needing a proper trip and test as their careers progress. It may make no difference of course but as a general rule a shorter sharper course being of benefit wouldn’t usually be the case unless a trainer sees their horse as all speed.

Now he could end up being that kind of horse, but that wouldn’t play to the argument of those who believed he was going to keep up the pace he showed all the way up the hill. He accelerated away from them nicely down the hill and the final turn, but who knows what he had left after that kind of effort. All I know is he’s priced as though he was going to win 30 lengths and I doubt he would. He would more likely have been treading water up the hill like any other horse that put that much in so early before the finish.
