        journos rarely write their headlines - that's a subbing error, and tbh shows the esteem racing is held in by the world at large imo

          Many years ago I worked for the FT and they wrote an article about the owners of Windsor racecourse and showed a photo of NH action that was taken some years years earlier and fully four years after Windsor stopped hosting NH racing, just lazy journalism though today's Daily Mail effort is significantly worse...

            Aye he is definitely happy running against each other. Think I’m more looking at whether he will try Saint Roi in another 2 races prior to the champion hurdle or just the 1. If it is 1 then it would make sense to split the 2 of them? Probably his 2 best 2 milers imo.

            I also think the likely plan with Saldier will be 1 run or no run. All my opinion of course. But if he needs a lot of time to recover or whatever it is that seems to make him so fragile then it would make sense. Clearly goes very well fresh and however people dismiss the Morgiana last year, he won a grade 1 on his first run for a year.

            Apologies went on a bit of a tangent but yes completely agree he doesn’t care running against each other.

                  Until Gary Moore changes his mind again.

                  He knows that as soon as he runs him, the Champion Hurdel dream is over when he’s beat. So he keeps pretending they want to run him. Then two runs on the flat showed the horse to be a totally different one to the one we saw last year over hurdles.

                  If he did turn up next week, I’ll be laying him no matter what he’s against assuming he’s a silly price.

                  • That second flat run was surely the best of his life though wasn't it?

                    Before he went jumping he thumped a few horses rated 55-65 in rubbish class 5 handicaps

                    His 3rd in a class 2 handicap at goodwood against 90+ rated flat horses is significantly better than what he had shown before

                      It was close to his best, (RPR 4lbs lower than his October 2019 win at Nottingham) and certainly wasn’t off-putting regarding a hurdling campaign.

                      The poor scope results recently are more the issue at the moment, and it would be awful if the same reason put him out again.

                      He has missed the
                      * 4yo race at Cheltenham’s October meeting,
                      * the Elite Hurdle
                      * the Fighting Fifth

                      if he missed the International Hurdle next Saturday that would be four races missed over two months.

                      • Anyone think there's any chance Concertista will run in this race? Pricewise appeared to suggest this possibility in a recent article. She flew up the hill in March and looked very impressive on her return.

                          Yeah there's a definite chance.

                          You have to weigh that up against the trainers M.O.

                          However the owners do have a say in that yard on the limited evidence we get.

                          You'd need to see her entered up over 2 miles though between now and the Irish Champion Hurdle?

                            Cant see it. Not with Epatante and Honeysuckle about. Think she's destined for the Mares and, as we sit here now ,for me she's the winner.

                              She is trained by Mr Mullins

                              he will run her in the easiest option she has

                              • I believe that Sharjah would have a good chance of finishing ahead of Epatante. The ride given this year was 6L off the pace and only beaten 2L...on soft ground. If the going conditions had been gd/ sft. I figure that Sharjah would be 4l in front in the race between those two. However neither of them wins the Champion Hurdle?
