Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Placed my first bet with sky free fiver on a Shishkin (Arkle), Fury Road (RSA) double.

Will probably just use the free bets for these doubles through the summer until the jumps come round proper again.

Manage to land one with Envoi and Samcro (albeit a RAB double) this year so no harm doing a few again.

      • I can’t see him priced up anywhere but angels breath for the Ryan air might be an intriguing bet should he get a positive update about hendo at the start of the season....

He's 25s with hills and 365, agree he could be overlooked but would want an update on his well being before placing any bets.

          • Personally I think the Ryanair is the hardest race to bet ante post, speed horses will target the QM and stayers the Gold Cup, and if you have a middle distance horse who is ahead of his/her mark you go Browns Advisory.
You would have got a fairly big price Defi went QM route after his Marsh win.
It’s a minefield, I’m focussing on championship races and one or two novice races...

            • Any word on Felix Desjy - could be a live one for the Arkle if they don't bring him out this season.

Funnily enough, Defi Du Seuil for the Ryanair at 20/1 is on my radar.

Just jotted the same down myself Kev. The Defi (Ryanair) 20/1, Paisley Park (Stayers) 10/1 double with Betfair is tempting me. 230/1, next best 135/1.

20/1 looks fair enough but using the 'archie index' he would have to be about 4/1 on the day to make that value right now.

It will be interesting to see what bookmakers do in the coming days/weeks, they may simply shut the shop or they may get creative with Cheltenham 2021 to keep the betting public interested.
I fully expect the next six months to be a wipeout but it has to be assumed that next years festival goes ahead as normal, the firm offering most creativity may do well out of this downtime...

                      • I was thinking this, might get some good offers back next year as bookies try to recoup losses

As someone who works in advertising, and has worked for the sector, they're gonna go full disgraceful targeting the most vulnerable trying to drive casino etc turnover. Already hearing it on the grapevine

                          • If it's not in your account, you can't spend it.

It's a two minute job to deposit or withdraw so, for the next few weeks, it makes no sense to leave more than a couple of bets worth on deposit in each account.

                            • Not really sure where to put this, but this thread seems quite popular at the minute so will ask here.

Would there be any interest in a thread to keep track of the Sales and how the horses go after - P2P/Goffs/Tatts Graduates always seem to do well at The Festival, particularly the novice hurdles and bumper and would be a nice way of tracking their progress through and seeing what big purchases are worth the money, and which ones flop.

Any interest in following this through?

                              • Also... Any podcasts/racing evenings? A list/thread ?
I’m very limited on what I can see/listen too as I am on budget and can’t afford the subscriptions to most things.
