The horse has already proved a very decent bumper horse, and has a debut just behind his more experienced stablemate Front View (a 140-ish hurdler), so I can see Uhtred being a really food shout as a Novice with a good level of experience already, still only 5, going into Novice Hurdles."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Uhtred Supreme and Farouk D’alene Ballymore double is going to be my starting point. Will likely add one more for the treble.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 18 March 2020, 01:18 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

The obvious race for him is the Ryanair, no?
When they have a horse going for a 3rd Gold Cup, I'm not sure they'll avoid ABP, but it doesn't make sense to force a GC horse when he looks like a Ryanair horse?
Mullins said this about Melon after the Marsh: "He ran a fantastic race, and that's the fourth second place in a Grade One he has had here. The cheekpieces have definitely helped his jumping, as he was gaining lengths and on the whole it was very good.
"Hopefully he might race in the big one (Gold Cup) in the future, as he jumps and stays."
Patrick Mullins quotes after the race also give an indication of the way they are thinking.
He said: "He has run a cracker and we know he stays very well, so I would say that we could probably go up in trip again. I think that is the way to ride him, use his stride and use his jumping. He is a kind horse at home and its just disappointing to get beat."
I reckon you've got to take Willie and Patrick's quotes at face value. They weren't under any pressure to say "he might be a Gold Cup horse next year". But they both volunteered comments that suggest upping the trip is where his future may lie.
We shall see!!

Not one I'll be rushing to back as I don't think it's value at the moment but definitely one to watch out for!
I can't imagine needing to rush to get the price, he's unliekly to have a string of 1's any season....
