  • Aye that was impressive, drifted a good bit beforehand too, no idea if that's because he didn't look as at it in the parade ring but it'd be even more impressive if it was.

I was watching him and wasn't happy with him. Quite slow over the fences, going left over some fences then pulling right afterwards. Wouldn't have got near Indian Dream IMO.

I'd have CC and FTF as BANC horses for JP. And Indiana Dream (and maybe In The Pocket) as Turners.

Happy enough to only back him in the Turners for the time being but will see how that plays out

Given how Indiana Dream jumped on a couple of occasions today I'm not sure the trip of the Turners would suit. The better the further for him. He's bred for further too.

Obviously his jumping could improve for better ground and experience but I think he can travel on the bridle for a long way so the BANC looks ideal, IMO.

It doesn't mean I won't cover him for the Turners but honestly think he'd get taken off his feet if Gaelic Warrior lines up in the Turners.

Was wondering about if his breeding was pushing people towards the BANC.

For me I prefer more experienced and out and out stayers in the BANC. I appreciate there'll be winners that don't quite fit that profile but it's how I see the race. Something like Stay Away Fay yesterday being almost the opposite performance of what Indiana Dream showed today.

I think on chase debut you can forgive a couple of slower leaps. But Indiana Dream traveled like the best and quickest horse in a reasonable field there.

He was on the bridle in heavy ground. He's got a serious engine and will stay, IMO.

Looking forward to seeing how it plays out with him.

I'd have the same as you but ITP will definitely go Arkle all day long IMO. Especially with HDB training him. He's got a serious chance too. Can't wait to see him next time. JP's horses are amazing this year.

                • “Mark was very happy with him there. He said he galloped through the last with a circuit to go & it sort of opened his eyes, he was quite good after that. He handled the ground & is a nice horse if he stays sound. He's a fine big horse" Frank Berry on Indiana Dream

                  • Indiana Dream was impressive today, couldn't really ask for much more on debut. Only 4 seconds slower than the handicap carrying a lump more than embittered. It was a shame to lose Hiddenvalley Lake, I don't think he was done when he departed and he'd have given the winner more of a race with stamina proven over further. I get the feeling Saint Felicien doesn't stay that sort of trip. Didn't look to at Cheltenham, maybe something like the Grand Annual for him.

If I was to guess which way JP splits his I'd say Inthepocket Arkle, Corbetts Cross Turners, Indiana Dream Browning and Patrick might get his wish with fact to file in the NHC. Every horse one run away from that changing though tbf.

                    • You'd be mad to not be covering both the BANC & Turners with cashout (if available to you)

Arguably one of the most impressive performances from a mid trip-staying novice chaser I've seen this season and a properly fair price still for both too.

                      25s Turners w/ 365
                      20s BANC w/ 365

Joining you with the aftertiming but immediately got him rolled up for the Turners now. Not nowhere near as big a as I have him for the BANC, but it's a start!

So impressed with him, I thought it was going to be a difficult race on paper. Wonder now is if he can back it up, I certainly hope so!

Well done COD! Onto a very good one I feel.

I wonder what his issue was that kept him off the track last season, hopefully not a re-occurring issue and he stays sound!

Willie called it ‘the smallest of setbacks’ in his RP stable tour so hopefully something very straightforward.

                            • I’m going to take a back seat on Indiana. Want to see him out again and do something similar.

Just watched it. Seemed to me that he made a mistake 4 out which cost him a couple of lengths and momentum. Rachel was then asking him to pick up with a couple of shakes of the rains before the 3rd last where he fell. Ideally Rachel wouldn’t be having to do anything on him at that point, but hard to tell if he was failing to keep pace or if she just wanted him to be braver at the next fence. I’ll give him a pass I think.

Indiana Dream looked like he’d relish further. Settled really nicely and ground them into the dirt. Jumping was average. Not sure Id fancy him for the Turners given how the recent editions have been run.
