Jonbon finished 2nd in the Supreme. Facile Vega finished 2nd last week & is 10-1 Arkle. TNG won the Bartlett, Stay Away Fay won the AB this year & is currently 16-1 BANC.
Needs a fuller analysis, but it might not be getting worst.

I have had a bit of the 16 for SAF, but he is trained by a proper trainer of chasers, with a fair idea of the probable race, and is lot bigger price than 6 or 8.
I won’t be taking prices much shorter than that though, a year away.

There are better prospects that ran in the AB, imo. Letsbeclearaboutit is just about top of my list at the moment.
Sandor clegane
Affordale fury
Any of about 10 for Gordon would all interest me before I am maximus

He's 6 or 7lb inferior to GDM and was an inferior hurdler also, so on that basis I can see why you'd be a bit reluctant and expect better (first season) novices to appear.
He's fairly inexperienced as a racehorse though, so can't really rule out progress from him either though. It's not a race I'd want to back anything else in at this point to be honest. But I also wouldn't back him at 12s to be fair
