Decent enough debut bar the mistake obviously, and looked like once he'd warmed up and got racing he improved his fencing.

Had nothing to beat, but it looked as though they went a fair clip, one major error, and some novicey jumping but got through the test, will wait and see what Willie says now.

He was fine.

Hate races like that though. His backers will say 'only one mistake I am happy' and his opposers will say 'likes to leave his hind legs in a fence doesn't he' and both groups wouldn't be wrong.

Just a case of need to see more.

Immediate thought is can’t jump like that in an Arkle or Turners.

Was hoping Largy would be ridden out at the end to see how far he was beaten by to give a rough guide to see how Sir Gerhard is compared to Gentlemansmansgame but disappointed to see he was eased after jumping the last

Thing is, he can't jump well enough for a CH, and the longer the trip the more obstacles to lose ground at! Does become a proper enigma but would maybe solidify for me that middle distance is best for him.

Isn't slick enough for 2, too many obstacles at 3m

He seemed to jump very low to my eye, which probably attributed to the mistake at the third fence.

Was then very slow at the next fence, probably because of what happened the fence before.

Thought once they turned for home he jumped the last 3 nicely and pulled away as expected.

Not sure where that leaves him in all honesty, would much rather see another run as Lobos says and think he needs another prior to a novice chase at the festival.

Big Sir G fan here. He's some engine, but that jumping was poor overall imo.

I'd make no festival appearance fav after that, held back for Punchestown
