Not at all, I've looked as the NHC as a race for those that are good enough to run competitively in graded company without being the level to win one.

Dunno. It's got a lot better in recent times. Stattler a prime example this year.

      • I’ve taken today and BANC with the double boost for a little bit of cover about GDM.

        • Stattler last year ran 2,5 then 3,1 before the NHC.
GDM has ran 2,4 and after today 3. I'd say Stattler was more impressive and in a similar situation where the stable had no stand out in the BANC (GDM and Capodanno). Add in GDC dodging it aswell.

GDM had his chance in the BANC and wasn't classy enough. If he's got any chance at the fez of a win it's the NHC imo.

It absolutely has got better but I stand by it being for horses not quite good enough to win the big ones. Galvin had a fairly successful season last year but fell short in the Gold Cup - I hope I am wrong but Stattler still has to run yet so he could end up being a damp squib.

            • ……interested in Amarite today in the Neville’s. No idea how he managed to finish last time, PP are paying monies back if finishing 2nd, 3rd or 4th which I think will qualify for NHC.

Might be a bet for the relegated novice handicap at Cheltenham trials day- if fit and well.
Another boost for him in that 12.45 Donny.DatsGino needing a step up in trip like many thought it’s adding up for this Frere.

My main worry is that GDM could have improved significantly from last year as he was only 6 running against 7 and 8 year olds. I was hoping to see Minella Cocooner and Classic Getaway over Christmas for them to help make Willie's mind up on his 3m chasers but they weren't to be seen and could have had a set back so again raises the likelihood of GDM being BANC bound. I'm now really hoping James Du Berlais impresses if he takes up his entry on New Years Day.

I’m sure Willie will run a lot more of his staying chasers at the DRF & they will sort themselves out there. Even if GDM wins today (provided it’s not easily by a clear distance) I don’t see WPM’s decision being made there & then. It’s a very weak grade 1 on paper.

I'd prefer GC to be Gordons BANC horse. I only want GDM to be Willies BANC if it means Ramillies goes NHC as I've been banging his drum from 50's down to 16's for months. So many moving parts, I imagine we are all in the same boat with so many related outcomes for basically two trainers.

Not a weak G1 with TSL and GDM in there but of little depth which is what I think you meant.
