Blue Lord was a 2 mile winner on the flat in France and looked like he'd definitely appreciate a step up in distance when winning over 2 miles on his hurdling debut. Don't see him as a Supreme horse at all .
Yeah, this was my view on Blue Lord as well Lobos.
I can see him slipping into a handicap somewhere, though he is entered up over 2m 4f on Boxing Day at Limerick which currently looks like a potentially hot race, but the trip would be more to his liking I'd have thought.
There's quite a few people on here who like Boothill for this race and he's also been tipped up by Andy Holding in the last week based on the time of his win at Taunton. That race was split into two divisions and the winner of the other division AthollStreet is an interesting horse.
The time of his win was around 3 seconds slower than Boothill. However, if you watch Atholl Street he strolled up the running and was given very little assistance from the saddle. Boothill also won very easily but the jockey looked like he was trying to teach him (first run over hurdles) and was a little more vigorous. Atholl Street was around 2 seconds slower from the last to the winning line so the times would be broadly comparable. Interestingly, Atholl Street carried a 6lb penalty for his previous win as well making his run more impressive.
I've been waiting for an entry for Atholl Street and he's declared in the 2 mile novice hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day. This race has been won by some really good horses in the last 5 years including Altior, Elgin, Mister Fisher and If The Cap Fits. Nicholls doesn't have a great record in the race but it's an interesting entry in a race that doesn't look as strong as usual. His sire Jeremy has sired some decent horses over jumps including Sir Gerhard and he looks a decent horse.
Nicholls doesn't have any horses towards the top of the market but perhaps this could be the one. He's currently a best price of 28/1 for the Supreme in a market that is crying out for a strong English contender.
I'm no time expert but interested in other people's thoughts particularly if they are time experts!
I agree I like Atholl Street his run is very comparable to Boothill. My worry would be does Nicholls tend to skip Cheltenham with his best novices with a view to chasing.
It's also unusual for 365 to exclude one from their market. Anyone any idea why Atholl Street isn't included?
Hemmings owned, has he ever sent on to the supreme? Not exactly a solid counter as every horse on its merit etc, but most assume they just gain experience and get ready for chasing.

Boothill's time was faster and it was Atholl Street's second run of the season so I would mark up Boothill even more considering Holding was told that Boothill was not fit going into the race and which you could easily see as Boothill looked absolutely massive.
