  • Love Envoi...

“She’s fine, she did well to finish second but she was a bit slow and ring rusty early on,” he said.

“Then when she got into it she actually ran a good race in the end.
“The first two she jumped really up in the air and slow, she was definitely ring-rusty but she warmed up into it and came from a long way back.

“Overall it was a good run. I wouldn’t think the ground had anything to to do with it, I’d be surprised if it did.

“Harry always said she was only just about ready to start so I think she will come on plenty for the run.”

One of Love Envoi’s Sandown successes last term was the Listed Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Mares’ Hurdle in early January, a race that she will now target again.

Fehily said: “We’ll head to Sandown for the mares’ hurdle she won last year, all roads lead back there at the minute.”

All roads leading to Sandown isn't the kind of ramblings you want is it

All roads lead back to the Mares Hurdle at the Festival is what you want, if you fancy her

So for months they're winning her at Sandown rather than Cheltenham.

That's even worse (for ante post backers)

Can't be many festival grade 1 winners that win as an after thought.

          • That Ruby Walsh racing legends interview is smashing.

Talks you through all his rides on the best horses, the Kauto Star season 2006/07 will be a real eye opener for some of the younger lot on here. A time when ground meant fuck all, trips meant fuck all and race fitness and freshness or whatever meant fuck all. If you're good you're good.

            Old Roan Chase
            Betfair Chase
            Tingle Creek
            King George
            Aon Chase
            Gold Cup

            Won the lot.

Unfortunately they treat them like Ballerinas these days. Not just Nicky....all of them.

                • Brilliant watch!!

                  Learnt loads...
Ruby makes a good point about OR's, and how KS reach 191 at a time where Ruby didnt think that wasnt his best performance (or something like that)
Makes you wonder about horses like Bravesmangame, scored 170 on his first run this season... was it really a 170 performance? or is that anchored on his previous top performance...

dunno, just thought it was very interesting

The breed is getting weaker and weaker

                    Same on the flat

Horses are just more fragile than they used to be

The constant over watering on the flat is only going to make things worse as well

And the bigger and bigger Cheltenham gets contributes heavily too

                    • Isn't it 'funny' - Arctic Bresil made it in to my mind as an interesting dark horse for the Arkle .... pretty much based on his first run where he beat Merceurey who hasn't been seen since, and Arctic Bresil was well fancied and flopped in the Tolworth.

He's 11/2 tomorrow against a horse in Spillane's Tower who was 4th in that fantastic novice chase that Facile Vega won.

Obviously it makes none of them ante post prospects for the festival graded races but just mad that seeing his name immediately made me think he was worth checking for the Arkle when clearly he's got zero hurdles form in the book to make him worth considering

It's just annoying that I actually think he's a bet tomorrow because I'm biased and can't let go of the fact I was wrong and he's crap

Surely spillanes tower is running for a handicap mark and won't want to be winning

Don't want to be too low in the weights to not get in. Could put away these then lose in a proper graded race at the DRF?

I have backed Arctic Bresil tomorrow 3 places at 9/2 - couldn't help myself
