That’s how I took it as well.
Is there actually a national sealife centre?

I believe he has been banned before, too, for abusive stuff on here.

Obviously trying to be a wind-up merchant.

        Not really called for.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I can see why it might come across differently to you in that situation. I'm usually on the outside of everything here so don't always know what's going on and just thought there might've been a misunderstanding. Not wanting to cause any further issues or anything

          • I'm sure we all want to just talk about the racing now... we're 2 weeks away from it being half-way over.....!

I respectfully ask all involved, to move on.... and let's focus on the reason we're here

Two occasions that make punters place bets they would never have considered previously.

                Exactly this.

Take everyone's words with a big pinch of salt. It's usually what they don't say that can be more revealing.

Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age but these days preview nights give me the feeling of "huh, maybe no one will win this race"

Now, GDC is a short priced fav for the Gold Cup, Appreciate It is 5/1 for the Turners.

                    What a mad sport.

                    • Never been banned, for abuse or anything else, that's a fact I deserve the right to reply on given it's not been corrected. Also there's a national sea life centre in Birmingham which was news to me too. While I'm here, congratulations to Grimsby. Back to the racing Clive.

                        Especially with the handicaps

Whenever a trainer like Gordon is giving you a horse for a handicap you always know in your heart of hearts he's got another one for the same race that he likes more and doesn't want to ruin the price for the yard and connections

Are you saying this thread cannot now be used for anything else?
                          Genuine question.

                            Yep totally agree.
They can be fun , but basing bets on them, not for me.

The trusted members implied this in their original comments, and I fully understood why they did (right or wrong)
It then morphed into a confidentiality thing. And I understand why the forum moderators would need to act on this also.

Unfortunately though, IMO we may have been a little hasty/harsh and maybe a warning around the whole "information embargo" thing would have sufficed in this specific instance.
Previous behaviour ! I'm not privy too, but trust the man at the helm to have considered any feedback given to him carefully.
Quevega, in the very first line of my post I stated that information itself may well be correct. It didn't morph anything into a confidentiality thing. I implicitly stated said why it was a problem. Essentially the person named as the source of the information was untrue, and even if it were true (it wasn't), the BHA, if they picked it up would certainly have followed up. That would have created a problem for the person/persons named and potentially JP too, as he was claimed to be the actual source. That then would have a knock on to Old Vic and Kev, who's site it was published on.

When picking up on this I also pointed out that the publisher of these posts has previous on here under multiple usernames. And the basis of all of those 'characters' was to troll around the place. I also had a series of unsavoury DM's from him last year, including threats, and that was the point I decided to withdraw from here. You could argue I had a bias. That's probably correct, but that facts were the facts, and this place is pretty high profile at this time of the year.

Atlantic Viking, we are all able to have our opinions. You're entitled to yours. But you post in very bold letters is very badly missing the point.

Brital. He was making claims that the information had come form a source it hadn't. As Saxon Warrior stated multiple times the information was embargoed. Said source would have been investigated by the BHA, so would the owners of Fat Jockey, which is where the information and the claim of the source was being published. Do you not see why that's a problem?
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Yeah, I incorrectly bracketed the trusted members together and acknowledge you may not have implied the same.

But that is how it started, and the rest of what you say I'm on board with, as my comments suggest.

I think some would find it frustrating though, that now the figures have been proven correct, we have this bizarre aspect to the whole thing, as to where they originated from ? Who the source was ? and how you know for certain that he's lying ?

I'm as aware of most on here about the trolls, and he may or may not be the same person as the characters mentioned. My educated guess is that there is more than one.
He's definitely Big Fish though as I called him out immediately the day he joined as Moby.
Just like I did with Bollinger (previously EA)

Most of the time they are harmless, but I've not been abused by any, apart from "german shepherd" and I enjoyed that.

So like I said previously, I respect that the forum is not privy to everything that has gone on and trust Kev and Co to do the right thing.

PS - I love the line
