I'm mentioning this as in relation to the Sky returns offer I have ?5 as mine compared to what I've seem most people reportedly having of ?2. Now I have a profitable Sky account as well, in the last 12 months over ?5k profit. And I would presume that also includes for all open bets I have with them currently classes as losses, which must be over ?2k ish. I have never been restricted on that account from what I remember in terms of stake restrictions until I get to silly amounts which I wouldn't stake (thousands).

On all my accounts I have only been restricted with Lad/Coral (pennies now) but I don't think I ever won much with them so just though they were just annoyingly like that with everyone. And then PP/BF where I'm stake restricted.

On all the other bookies for now (touch wood/fingers crossed) I'm not restricted at all with all having large profits on the accounts over the life of the accounts.

So I was wondering if there is some sort of limit that could be roughly worked out at once you reach then you get the email of dread from them?

I feel like I must be close if they are all profitable. But I also guess the good thing is that I spread my bets over about 10 bookmakers so no one account (other than probably 365) makes all of the money
This is what I don't understand in my specific situation. You make much more than I make and by extension probably stake more - and I expect there's others on here similar to you which is why I put my numbers up in the first place for context.

I've never had a single that amounted to more than 15 with them and normally just do 1ew lucky 15s or equivalent so I'm even doing muggy multiples for them (although I've had decent success with luckys over my life so don't consider them muggy). I don't even think I've found that many ricks in their prices so I'm completely lost as to the reason why I'd be restricted.

    • I wouldn’t waste time trying to apply logic to it as they don’t . I have lost accounts where justification has been that I used the promotions they offered.

      • If you're beating SP more often than not you'll be restricted as they believe you're using the account for arbing,If you're a long term losing or winning account they aren't overly bothered just as long as over time you're not beating the markets,if you start doing that on a consistant basis it's a massive red flag that you're not the kind of punter they want to entertain.

I would say probably 70/80 % of all my bets are ante post and better than the SP. On most of my accounts it would be 100% only antepost bets which end up the majority of the time as better than SP other than the ones that don't end up running.

Maybe its good then to have a relative split of none runners and runners that end up running at shorter

            • The generic amount is definitely ?2. If you go on Skybet incognito or on someone else's phone who doesn't have an account (and don't log in obviously), the banner still clearly says max refund of ?2.

Yeah it just so confusing how it can be done where certain accounts that don't win as much are restricted more than others. Maybe it's certain things that flag up on the accounts like certain types of bet that could trigger these things.

I've pretty much done the same way of antepost betting for a few years and the only thing that has changed is the gradual increase in my stakes each year. Maybe slow and steady wins the race (keeps the account and doesn't set off alarm bells)

                • Re sky bet 2 pound money back offer, closer to the day they usually offer more, was it a tenner last year, only a few years ago it was twenty.
the rule is always first bet on the race, are they trying to catch people with 2 pound, which would exclude you from a better offer, if they do it

                  • Can’t ever remember them putting the free bet offer up and then increasing from memory.

Same here, the amount as always remained the same, as far as I can remember.

                      • Does sky usually put the offers as early , can’t remember for sure thought it was closer to the Tuesday

                        • They did it early last year as well and it was twenty quid

                          • Yea they do it early and amount doesnt change.
its really pathetic this year the 2quid.

Surprising too as i thought half the point for them was that people would get the refund and use it with them in another race

                              Yeah, absolutely.

I did actually forget the trend that these bookie offers have been geting worse each year.

Good job we all work hard all year beating SP, as relying on these offers to profit is a thing of the past

                              • ….so, Lewandowski has joined me at scoring in the Stretford End. Don’t like missing an opportunity to mention such things. I have to say my goal was considerably better.
