      Was it mentioned a few days ago? Wish I’d seen it as I only heard when it was too late, oh well.

      • Don’t know if anyone has the answer to this but I’ll give it a go, if I deposit money onto my online betting account in the betting shop, can I then withdraw that money straight from the betting account into my bank account?

        i know you can’t deposit money into your account using one card and then withdraw it onto a different card instantly, but I’m interested to know if you can do what I’m talking about above.

            I presume you mean fund the account using cash at the counter? I'd imagine as a one off it would be doable, although if a pattern started to emerge your account would most probably be flagged for potential money laundering

              Yeah that’s what I meant, I was thinking it wouldn’t raise as many flags as moving money between two different cards but it’s probably not worth it if it’s something I could lose my account over even from just doing it once.

                I’d be shocked if you can.
                I suspect every crack dealer in the land would be playing that game if you could…

                    I know someone who is a tradesman who every other month puts ?1100 on their loyalty card with an unamed bookmaker (just in case someone is reading we will say unamed) Places loads of small bets with the ?100 and withdraws the rest to card to avoid the tax man and he's been doing it for a good while.

                    • …..apparently ‘What’s up Darling’ was really impressive winning his PtP last weekend & has been purchased for ?280k & gone to Elliott. No idea if he’ll be one for next season or this but one to keep in mind;

                          • As mentioned above any patterns like that are money laundering indicia they may not have done anything about it but if they have any systems and controls they should have recognised it and may well be reporting it

                              Yeah, a lot more on top these days.
                              When I worked in a Bank, around 1998 - a business man wanted to pay 30k in cash into his acount and offered me a gold watch for my help !

                              I left the office and asked my manager "Do you think this is suspicious"

                              Nowadays you can't even draw a grand out without needing an interview as to the reasons why. Never mind pay it in.

                              • Aye, I'd be amazed if that's actually true.

                                Sure he doesn't actually lose the money on betting but prefers the other story
