Not too many posts above to see that's not much of a shock

Had to add him. Been on the cusp of it for a while, to be fair. Thought they may have gone for the gold cup after another good run in a grade 1 Chase the last day, although I see now the stayers is his only entry at Cheltenham.

As is Flooring Porter. Form keeps getting franked.

              • Id still be hopeful fury road is the best of the irish stayers and expect him to massively outrun his current odds

He was certainly backed at Christmas like he was Gordon's number 1 not sire du berlais

I hope your right, that bartlett run puts him at a similar level to thyme hill at 4 times the price.

With Delta Work out will they consider supplementing The Storyteller to the Gold Cup field?

I don't think so. The plan has always been the Stayers Hurdle and I can't imagine Gordon and the owners will change at this point. As I've said before many times, Gordon knows best with these decisions and whatever he decides is the right call usually!

Starting today, each day The Storyteller remains 22/1, I'll be having an additional 1 pt e/w

Completely agree. I can't believe 365 didn't touch his price after a mighty second in the Irish GC. I've got him half the price at similar to SDB.

Those two will surely be really similar in the betting come off?

Whether that's a drift on Sire Du Berlais or shortening of The Storyteller, I'm not sure... but guess the latter!

I do think SDB will be the more fancied on the day and go off the shorter of the pair but agree they are very well matched up on last year's form so TS does look a decent bet at the odds. He has been so impressive and consistent this season. I'm thinking the Stayers looks really open/competitive this year and that we may get a big field which could tempt some bookies into additional places to the normal 3 so I'll wait and play the without Ew market with him on the day.

Yeah I can see that being an attractive angle.

Wonder who Jack will ride - The Storyteller or Fury Road?

I do think Fury road will come good come the big day but The Storyteller's form this season has been really good.
