He has to have every chance coming here imo. No way does he beat Chacun. I wouldn't fancy him to win this either though.

Totally agree with your comments Kev, we tend to give extra chances to the greats to come back, but in the end age is the great leveller. Some can extend it by going up in trip, but I fear this may be his final.season. Hope I'm completely wrong, and he has one last major win to come, but it will be without my money.

I’m not entirely sure I understand the fuss about sending horses up in trip when they get old, as if they’re top footballers dropping into a deeper lying role to control a game from the middle of the park as they no longer have the legs to play up front or on the wing. Who was the last ageing grade 1 winner to be given a new lease of life by going up in trip? Honestly can’t think of one. Altior only heads for the Ryanair if he flops in the Game Spirit. But if he flops in the Game Spirit, it won’t be because he needs another half a mile, it’ll be because he’s regressed. He’s not Ryan Giggs.

When I read the first line I thought I didn't

I have no doubt that Altior has regressed
It just depends to what extent,At 11 he is entitled to
Allaho is the current fav in the Ryanair and he looks beatable
A staying on second in the Game Spirit might tempt them here
Horses like Min and Un De Sceaux have come out of the champion chase to win this

I have zero doubt Altior at his best is miles clear of what Allaho could do.... but he is 7.... and Altior at 11, just ain't winning at a festival in a G1 is he?

I don't think it's a bad bet NRNB at all... I was just trying to justify to myself why I'm not taking it.
....and if he does win, I'll cheer him on and big you up

In his current being I would say plenty.

0%. There are no 4x festival winners that've tried to win a Ryanair... for obvious reasons... literally no horses as good as Altior would have tried technically, even including Vautour
You knew what he meant.....perhaps he should have doubled him with Donald Trump.

As I said I don’t hate the angle, but better horses than today’s version of Altior have lost in the Ryanair. As much as everyone loves to hate it, it is a legitimate grade 1 not a grade 3 that a class horse on the way down can scoop up
How many horses can beat SceauRoyal 3 lengths and then lose to Nube Negra?
In my opinion a lot. For me we are seeing an elongated Might Bite style decline where he went so deep he does t ever want to do so again.
Takes nothing away from his career but I’d question how many top class horses finish behind Altior again
