She was very impressive for a debut indeed! Certainly likely to be improvement as well.

La Primma Donna looked okay but was absolutely no match for the winner.
I hadn’t been watching the market this morning so only saw the prices just before the off. But if the green and gold money comes like that, it’s usually a sign.

    • From memory Willie normally has 2/3 in this race. So far we've seen Allegorie De Vassy, Brandy Love, Grangee, Statuaire, Glens of Antrim and now Dinoblue all putting in very good performances. The well touted Belle Metal was a disappointment. They can't all come here. Have I missed any?

I'd rather wait and see them act in graded company as most so far have naturally shone only in maiden hurdles.

      • Had a glance and last three years I think he's run
        2021 - 4
        2020 - 4
        2019 - 7!

        Suggests they could all go.

Thanks. Saw the last 2 hurdles and was impressed by the hurdling. Will watch tonight but looks a player.

          • All in different ownership, so you'd imagine most will run. I still have a feeling that either Grangee or Statuaire will take on the boys though.

            • Dinoblue was very impressive. When an unraced JP horse is that well backed and wins easily , you know she's a serious tool.

Be interesting to see if he sends her to the Solerina

Thats the race that usually sorts the pecking order for his top mares novice

edit,Just realised 5lb penalty for winning the Solerina

                • Willie Mullins runners in the Mares Novice Hurdle since inception:

                  2021 - 4 runners - 6th, 10th, 11th, 12th - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 13/2, 8/1, 8/1, 50/1

                  2020 - 4 runners - 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 4/1, 9/2, 9/1, 20/1

                  2019 - 8 runners - 1st, 2nd, 6th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, PU - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 13/2, 20/1, 40/1, 50/1, 50/1, 66/1, 66/1, 100/1

                  2018 - 4 runners - 1st, 6th, 7th, F - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 4/7, 18/1, 20/1, 40/1

                  2017 - 4 runners - 1st, 5th, 13th, 14th - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 11/8, 4/1, 14/1, 100/1

                  2016 - 1 runner - 1st - SPs (from lowest to highest odds pre-race) - 8/11

2019 was the standout year for Willie in terms of number of runners - also his weakest year (at least according to the pre-race market). Maybe a coincidence, maybe not

Of the top 8 Mares in the 2022 MNH antepost market currently, Willie trains 6 of them (with Mullins' Mares lurking further down the antepost market too). Plenty of water to flow under the bridge (the Solerina etc.) between now and March but it might be something to bear in mind when considering how many he is likely to run in March.

                  • Incredible how accurate the market was in each case with regards to all his horses in every race year.

                    • Don't suppose anyone has heard anything about Vadaly (Winner in France)? Kenny Alexander bought from france sent to Willie, was really hoping she'd come for this race but haven't heard any murmurings or anything.

The SPs aren't in finishing order.

2021 - best finisher was 8/1 (2nd shortest in SPs)

                        2020 - Concertista was 9/2 with Colreey (4/1) finishing 3rd best of Willie's.

                        2019 his winner was 50/1 and 2nd was 66/1

Yep - was a confusing post, on first glance you'd assume they were.

She's one I had on my radar for the Triumph. Potentially this years Mullins late bolter? Assuming she is sound, not much point in holding her back for next year as her French Victory debars her from Novice company.
