  • Allegorie entered in dublin handicap next week and got mark of 133.
I'd say that's a pointer if they run tomorrow that they're not that keen.
Otherwise you'd think they'd go for the handicap for 4x the money.

Then Townend picking brandy love enforces that a little.

Might be reading too much into it and allegorie may look less like a giraffe tomorrow, but I had brandy love as the more professional mare over hurdles.
Not always easy to read these novice mares to be fair.
Just think Brandy Love looks more powerful, which is what you often need in this race.
    A nice Big breasted mare.

      • Fairyhouse 1.40 – Brandy Love

This wasn’t an easy choice. Allegorie De Vassy, Braganza and Grangee are also very good mares. Braganza was a bit disappointing last time and has a bit to prove so I have gone with Brandy Love. She is a course winner. I think the step up in trip will suit her.

Grangee will find the return to mares company will suit her. Allegorie De Vassy was visually impressive on her first run for us. I could easily be on the wrong one but I have stuck with the mare I have got the feel of and won on.

He was probably just being polite.

That or he was still thinking about getting on top of Brandy Love again and wasn't thinking clearly.

                • All a bit confusing re: ADV. Seemed to be a market move last coupe of weeks for her, which I had presumed was at least in part driven by stable sentiment. But now Brandy is seemingly Townends pick and fav for tomorrow which kind of contradicts that. Different race, different track at Chelts obvs, but not sure what to make of it.

It can't be anything but negative for ADV.

Talking to be done on the track though!

                      • Think the extra distance played a big part in PT choosing BL tomorrow by the sounds of it . Might choose something different at the Fez ??

Maybe, Townend does mention the step up in trip suiting Brandy, but its only a furlong further than the Mares Nov, right? And in any case, would you ADV as better over the shorter Mares Nov trip? Seems to be a big, strapping chasing type of mare?

I don't think PT was looking at anything other than tomorrow's race when making his choice.
That said, if he gets it right then it'll be hard for him to jump off BL I suppose.

                            • There are a few rumours about that PT and Ricci have had a falling out. Probably pure nonsense....
