That is surprising though, you'd think what you've suggested would be a bit of a plan.

I'm not sure, but something is in my head where he just didn't have loads of runners.
Yeh the Arkle he very rarely throws anything at. Fakir was the first in awhile from memory

Don't think he has ever won the race

    • Not sure how it would work at the festival re jockeys on the JP horses. It would make sense if Mark Walsh doesn’t have a ride that he gets the ride but can also see if the stable jockey doesn’t have a ride then stick with them. Easiest example could be Nico on Chantry House.

JP does have a good few horses in the novice ranks and it will be interesting to see how they are split up. Unexcepted, Elixir D’Anainy, Janidil, Andy Dufnrense, Chantry House, Dickie Diver to name few.

Could see Andy D going up in trip for the RSA what do people think of that option? If Chantry is sticking to the intermediate and possibly DD (if fit) could go NHC.

I think Mark Walsh will ride all the Irish trained JP horses and the English based horses will revert to stable jockeys or the best available. For me it would not be ideal for Walsh to ride a horse for first time at the festival.

Would have had Le Richebourg wouldn't he...

I do think he'll have one this year to be fair. Unexcepted or Elixir D'ainay?

They'd called it the "Golid Cup"

...225-1 seems reasonable. Sky offer 14-1 Shiskin 2022 CC and 14-1 Envoi 2022 GC 14-1. Hills go 6-1 Shiskin 2022 CC and Envoi 16-1 2022 GC.

Been debating this with couple lads this morning, I mean I can't get more than ?5 on but essentially a "fun bet" and you potentially have two favs for two top races that we all will end up backing inevitably providing all goes well this year.

....the 14-1 Shishkin to win the 2022 CC looks a stand-out. It’s only 6-1 with Hills, whilst Ladbrokes go 10-1 and PP 9-1 for Arkle/CC double.

Ladbrokes and Hills are both 16-1 Envoi 2022 GC (18-1 with Ladbrokes boost).

                        • I got in touch with Sky about the 2022 Shishkin/Envoi 225/1 double with the 'Goild Cup' spelling:

"We can confirm that this bet refers to the Gold Cup for Cheltenham in 2022. Apologies for the misspelling, but we've sent that onto our traders to be corrected."

                          • Yes if they both win their targets this season you would think Shiskin would be around 4/1 tops for Cc and Envoi 5/1 tops for Gc. If your lucky enough to get a tenner on live the dream.

They've corrected the spelling mistake but left the price unchanged so still on the site twice at 150-1 and 225-1.
