Fair play lads, lot of good points, Champion Hurdle talk is very early, tried to get hills to put her in the market for 22 but they havent yet. And as the last few runnings show there could be something lurking for this race. I think for any chance of being champion hurdle level she will have to beat Royal Kahala well in the Solerina, were to she finish 2nd she would still be a worthy fav but would dent my confidence that shes the real deal.

I got lucky with Concertista as I ended up watching the racing in a pub in Cheltenham on Wednesday instead of at the course when the Twitter notification came through, otherwise never would have seen it in time. I know Scooby had put her up earlier in the season at 33s or something but never got involved until that tweet came through.
Scooby91 is better than Hugh though... IMO

Certainly wouldn’t dispute that although sure Scooby wouldn’t mind conceding to Hugh’s prowess on the All weather ... haha

Just realised you get a 5 pounds penalty for winning the Solerina, makes no sense considering its a G3 and the Cheltenham race a G2. Bit of a catch 22, unlikely to affect the outcome at Cheltenham but you just wonder if Townend will put the stick down rather than get into a battle with Royal Kahala on heavy ground if she got to Gauloise after the last. Theoretically winning this makes your task more difficult at Cheltenham, not much of an incentive, and certainly something to bear in mind if considering backing Gauloise at Fairyhouse, I doubt shell be in my price range anyway.Last edited by Energumene; 28 January 2021, 02:31 AM.

You've already chucked in an excuse for her, almost a cop out, before she's even been declared

I personally cant see how anyone can be so bullish about Gauloise, on a form line through Mighty Blue who was beaten a similar distance by Sea Ducor who is rated 135. I would like move on to a different form line the horse in question is Global Equity beaten by both Gauloise and Rosey Hollow by a similar distance. Delvino beat Rosey Hollow by 7.5 L. and Royal Kahala beat Delvino by 13L, If Royal Kahala does go to Cheltenham I think she's a good thing and in the event she dosen't then Hook Up is the one for me.

If I knew RK was going Cheltenham I'd have a biggish bet now, but it's up in the air isn't it?

On that theory then you'll have to like Sliding Rock and Skyace lol. They beat FE giving her weight....Skyace might just surprise a few. Sliding Rock won't be at the race.

Hang on, you said Gauloise has everything, and a future Champion Hurdle horse. She'll not care about carrying a penalty, just like Laurina managed to, and still won the Mares Novice by 18 lengths, just like Limini did and still won the Mares Novice Hurdle.
