  • Using times to justify a selection, the games so done in, stride patterns, times race IQ, all cobblers for people too simple to be able to understand what they're watching, its just dumbing down having the ability to race read or read formlines.
I dread to think how the tv pundits in 20 years time who've been raised on this shit will approach reviewing races.

      • As for this year’s Arkle, Majborough remains on course for a mouth-watering showdown with Sir Gino after claiming the Irish equivalent under Mark Walsh at Leopardstown.
Mullins said: "He’s a fantastic horse, he looks a really nice horse in the making and he’s only five. He does things so naturally.

"Funnily enough, last week I wanted to school him and Mark wasn’t around, so I said to Paul (Townend) to get up on him, which he wouldn’t normally do.

"Paul got down off him and he just couldn’t get over the power of him, so Paul was very taken with him and his schooling at home. So, when you impress someone like Paul, I thought that was a huge statement on a schooling morning

          Paul angling for a ride

Knows he can't get anywhere near Sir Gino with anything else

Yep, 33/1 with 365 for Arkle and BANC

              Cashed both

You'd be best assuming I've backed every horse that's ever lived to save yourself some time brother

                Yeah, think you are right

He's one I was able to get out of with a small profit as a mate put it on with 365 for me and kindly cashed it. Used it to fund my trip to Trials Day

                  Nice

I just don't see him winning it

Got my money back, I think it's a 1 horse race, then a clear 2nd best .... and I was win only

If I have 33/1 e/w I'd have left it probably (for Arkle) ...

day of race and hedging we'll see but ante post, and easy 'get out'

I did think it was maybe Sir Gino's race to lose but maybe he was flattered slightly running against a stayer in Ballyburn and the messages coming out of the Mullins camp re Majborough since his DRF win have been ultra positive. It's going to be some match up and I just fancy if they go real hard from setgo that Majborough will outstay him.

                      Fair enough

I think Sir Gino will end up comfortably favourable to Hendo's (ridiculous) line of 2m chasers

                      Altior
                      Sprinter Sacre
                      Jonbon
                      Shishkin

Sir Gino will be in that convo and won't be bottom

Majborough for me, if he was going to 'that good' wouldn't have been beaten by Kargese, or gone off 3rd string in a Triumph

I think they're retrospectively trying to make him better than he is

Sir Gino is a world beater

Maj is best of a bad bunch

Beating Tullyhill on debut sounds better than it is, and Touch Me Not got tossed aside by an ENGLISH horse of all things

I like that Maj will be popular, but this is a 1 horse race for me

Out of interest, do you think Sir gino would have beaten kargese on his first run for Henderson? Where he jumped less than perfect and beat royal way i think? Given that two runs later he only beat her 3l. And majborough turned around the form with kargese to win by a length one run later.

I think on form lines, sir gino comes out ahead of majborough, but not by a lot. On a strict line through kargese theres 2l in it. And hes been that slight bit more experienced than majborough all along. On what we've seen i think sir gino will jump a little slicker than majborough and should try to get first run on him. If majborough is within touching distance rounding the home turn i think he might just finish stronger.

I'm not looking at the Kagese line of form at all as the reason I think Sir Gino is better

                            They'll both win G1's

Honestly it is the working al over Con Hill .... which I know is mental

But even if that wasn't true, it's still impressive

How many horses have worked all over the best we may have ever seen?

I remember thinking Shishkin was over rated before he won the Supreme, and we look at Jonbon.... he got walloped but take CH away and h'es a RIDICULOUS Supreme winner going on to do special things

Sir Gino IMO is special, Maj i just a G1 winner for Willie, which is still amazing, but not special

                            • Gino declared for the Game Spirit, all stand their ground bar Djelo.

L'eau Du Sud in the Kingmaker. Rubaud also declared for that.

I agree. I see it like altior vs min/un de sceaux

Min and un de sceaux were excellent grade 1 horses but altior just had that extra gear

I see gino beating maj comfortably but maj mopping up when he's not there
