Edit - Oh dear, infection ridden up the leg already, should've got the vet in on friday, that's really poor from Hendersons team to allow that to happen, like really bad, Donnellys have every right to be roasting them for this, could lose a horse from ligament infections very f@cking easily, I'd be considering moving my stock from the yard personally...but they'll do what they feel is right.
Just wish Gino well as this isn't something minor.
        Oh no.
Hope he recovers ok and we get to see him next season.
The Arkle was a race to I was so looking forward to,
        like most I imagine .
        Absolutely gutted.

I’m already on him, and hoping they now think about running him , not confident though.

Prob need to think several with only one in horse to fear (& his jumping is a bit iffy

                  • Sad to see him out and there's a chance now we don't ever see Sir Gino Vs Majborough.

Could get a decent sized field now though.

I hope so too CaT, but known enough horses in this position to know it's 50/50 at best once the infection gets into the ligament.
Its beyond belief that it wasn't checked by a vet before today, once he was sore a day later from what was said to be no more that a cut alarm bells should've been ringing, even more so for a yard so full of good experienced staff.

On nick luck show yesterday, I was sure Hendo said at that time that they were waiting for the vet?

6/1 AR with Sky who have her the same price for the Mares Chase, it's NRNB so two mares with one stone.

I'm pretty sure that was with regards to the pendl at kempton. And the article in the sun newspaper had these words from Harry fry.

Today, Fry added: "Nicky didn’t sound all that keen to run over two and a half miles so I tried to sow the seed in his mind it might not be the best idea. Of course we all just want Sir Gino to be fit and well, but I’d rather he didn’t go to Kempton.

“It’s a Grade 2 - it’s not going to be the canter round he thought it might be.

“Gidleigh Park is absolutely on target for Kempton. Cheltenham is coming too soon for us, and we also need more experience. Kempton fits in nicely before going to Aintree.

“I’m really happy with Gidleigh Park. He’s come out of the Windsor race fine. He could have gone for the Kingmaker, but we wanted to wait a little longer.”

This was published before news of Sir gino being out for the season, but Harry fry seems pretty dead set here.

I didn't see it and he may well have been, but vets are available 24/7 365 in Newmarket, I honestly doubt Lambourn is much different,if the vet they always use was unavailable another could've been dispatched.

                              • Strange bit of handicapping from the Irish.

Betterdaysahead left on a mark of 152

                                Stellar Story given 148 ?

And Three Card Brag dropped 2 to 145 ?

Betterdaysahead has just beaten the second a neck getting five pounds off him but if they run in a handicap tomorrow he has to give same horse 4lb (a 9lb swing for a neck)

Explain that to someone you feckin pesky handicapper.

                                Gordon will be pleased enough.
