Indeed, El Fab has a serious engine. Do you think there's any chance they send Energumene to the Ryainair if all is well with Fab and he continues to improve. If it doesn't come up very soft for Energumene then the CC is El Fabs for the taking Imo.

Almost no chance that they don't go for a 3rd consecutive queen mother I'd think

        • ….I presume that’s Maxxum qualified for NHC. Bet365 have cut to 25-1 from 33-1.

Yep. And the 3 behind him.

Thinking about it....they all need another run over fences don't they ???

The RP comments begin “Didn’t jump well …” Will have to watch back later.

I'm hoping they'll have time to squeeze another race in , and there were only 3 finishers.

                  • I think some of you are mad at times!

Not a mission you could back that in a NHC

Last 2 fences were probably his best jumps, lost a length at most fences. Seems to have a good engine though

Yeah. Not fluent at any of the first 12. Particularly bad at 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 - maybe he doesn’t like even numbers? Last few taken much better and as you say the last two (off the bridle) were his best. Perhaps the penny dropped.

He does seem to have a good engine, but Hubrisko raced keenly throughout and made two massive errors including at the last which perhaps flattered him
in that respect. Walk Away, who was much more professional, was closing late on.

Qualified on the distance part of the rules.

I expect he would need more than one Chase run, to qualify - but did the job today, and I don’t think the snails pace helped him get much impetus into the fences.

Once the pace quickened on the last circuit, it looked like he generally jumped better.

Id want to see what he does with his jumping 2nd time, and not whacking him for what he did on his debut, whilst still winning well enough.

                            • Probably the wrong section but just taking an earlier look at possible targets for certain horses for next year and would be very interested in people's thoughts , corbetts cross, gaelic warrior , Lossiemouth, Ballyburn+Tullyhill.....and will IEP run in the turner's? Again any thoughts/views be interesting to hear.

Before Punchestown I had both Tullyhill and Ballyburn and AB candidates. Ballyburn then surprised me with his turn of foot which has changed my mind that he could be a Ballymore horse. Tullyhill I’d personally only be interested in the AB.

Lossiemouth I think could end up a little in no woman’s land. She won’t win a champion hurdle in my opinion and also I’m not sure she’s crying out for the step up to the Mares hurdle distance.
