    ….25-1 MNH with 365.

JackieMoon33 Do you know what the highest rated PTP run by a mare is? 91 does seem very high.
I don’t but I can’t recall one higher than that or even in the 90’s before for a mare.

Her page is really impressive which leads me to believe she’ll be a sharper type than some of those PTP mares which I tend to disregard usually. Also, Walter Connors knows the time of day so his connection is another positive.

Understand your caution JackieMoon33 - Telmesomethingirl the only ex ptp horse to win the MNH in its eight-year history.

She won a point over 2m 4f and only turned up in the MNH two years later.

Also, Gordie yet to win it so a few things conspire against her.

Thought the point Qualimita won was a bit of a strange race which completely fell apart on the final circuit.

But she couldn't have won any more easily and it was easily the fastest time of the day and - as you point out - she is certainly bred for the job.

Best price now 25-1 with 365 from what I can see.

I'm so reluctant to go back down this road again....but very tempted

I’m incredibly stubborn myself but getting tempted.

          • The nature of PtPs is that they cater for stores on their way to racing under rules. As such, a PtP mare is unlikely to be sharp enough for the MNH and most of the successful 2m mares will have come from France with earlier racing experience. Of course, Honeysuckle might have changed that stat if she'd gone in 2019.

Do you think that's changing at all? The only French bred in the top 5 this year (Halka Du Tabert) was also the only PTP graduate. The other 4 were all British or Irish bred. Also, the recent runnings have seemed to favour a horse who stays further.

              • Letsbeclearaboutit entered next Thursday in a beginners chase at Tipperary over 3 miles. Entered with a few from Gordon like Maxxum.

4th in the AB and could be one for the NHC being out at this time of year

I think that it's changing to the extent that the extended mares programme has persuaded breeders to look beyond the classic NH pedigree for mares. Also, the new 3yo NH bred programme has meant a new market in 2yo stores so breeders are looking towards more precocious types for that. All takes time of course but possibly the process is starting to move on.

                  • ….looks like IEP pushed out to 5-1 with Hills for CH after that win. Presume that might be something to do with the post race interview? State Man staying hurdling according to Mullins.

IMO IEP wouldn't beat State Man over 2 miles.Cant see Willie sending them both down the CH route.

                      • Reasonable form boosts all round there in the bumper. Irish Point and Qauntum Storm (for Ballyburn) and He’s My Hero (for Mirazur West).

He’s My Hero didn’t really seem to see out the trip oddly.

I’d say He’s My Hero was inconvenienced, like a few, by what seemed like a sedate pace. Not sure he didn’t stay, just didn’t have the legs for a sprint finish.

Fair that. Was an oddly run race.

Agreed. Definitely not a race I’ll take much from.

Shannon Royale too, Jamie Codd put him up as one to watch in bumpers that would excel over obstacles. Obviously have to forgive the Fairyhouse flop but I’ve chanced 33/1 in the Ballymore!
