  • Vanillier had a kissing spine apparently

Would explain his awful jumping, be interesring to see how he jumps as he could be a lot better than he was able to show last year

    • Whatdeawant seems to be getting overlooked or at least not mentioned. This one is a dour stayer and I think will start to turn places into wins now chasing and upped in trip. I really liked Wdw for the Bartlett last year but unfortunately as he's owned by Ballymore it was always going to the the choice. He's been mentioned in the stable tour as going chasing and being better at a distance, he could easily slot into plans for the NHC or the novice chases.

      • Agreed Lbur. I'm thinking him and Ramillies maybe for the NHC. Both big prices. Need to watch their entries.

        • Bear Ghylls declared for the Intermediate Chase at Carlisle on Sunday. A nice little race that is. Himself and Beauport are the ones well off at the weights. But Millers Bank, Corach Rambler (needs further surely), and MInella Drama won't make life easy.

Jumped lovely, just kept going out to his right, which isn't ideal. Just got the job done, though a two horse race never tells us much really.

                • He'll not be going to Cheltenham though will he?

The second was only 121 so not good form

But yes he jumped well and looked pretty nimble

                      I would say it's unlikely

Nicholls will only run if he thinks he has a huge chance of winning. Which at this stage doesn't seem that likely.

Good starting point for him jumping wise though

You'd have liked to see him win by much further against that level of opposition to get in any way excited for future targets

He was only rated 121, but his actual form wasn't all that bad. He was also a 12 length p2p winner, so maybe fences are the making of him anyway. I'm not reading an awful lot into the form, just because there were only two runners, the pace was likely sedate, and it ultimately turned into a sprint.

I'm on GB @ 22/1 and will hold on to the ticket for now. Will see what plans are next for him.

Minella Crooner entered but also The Devilscoachman.

Devilscoachman looked like he was being campaigned for a chase handicap last year then won the Boyne hurdle.
Rated 152 over hurdles and seemed to improve loads for the trip.
No Minella Crooner, but The Devilscoachman is declared, against Sams Profile, Churchstonewarrior and a couple of other Gordo horses.

Yep, still not priced up any race either.
I get the gound concern thing, but ut's been on the soft side often enough at Cheltenham in recent years.
He could realistically end up running in about 8 races I reckon.
                            And be competitive enough.

                            • Devil's Needs pricing up for the RSA and any race really.
Just in case he wins easy at the weekend, as if not we'll be taking 12-1 or lower.
He'd Shit Gelino Bello out of his arse.

                              • I've asked B365 via a mate for the RSA.
Hills still not priced up any race, even though some kind soul asked them the other day.
