  • Better Days Ahead is still 12/1 any race with Sky or Hills, that must be the sensible play now?

    • KOK still 16/1 TWAR with Hills if people are wanting to still back him

        …KoK into 8-1 TWAR now.

Looking like 12-1 is as good as it gets now (Oddschecker showing 14-1 PP, but it’s actually 12-1 on site).

        • Mental to cash Better days ahead. Wait and sit on it. I've still got a feeling hes the best. Our own eyes will be the judges rather than the day he runs.

          • As a backer of Better Days Ahead I too was hoping he was going to be running in the Saturday bumper. I don’t know much about the layout of Down Royal in terms of rails being moved but is it possible that given the forecast going he runs on the Friday to give him fresher ground than last race on Saturday? Possibly clutching at straws.

Wise bet I feel just in case he goes hurdling after this.

KOK is a strange one with those owners not caring for the Champion Bumper, I’m not going to get sucked in with that one.

                • Not backed anything in the bumper but BDA was the 2nd most impressive 4yo P2P winner for me last season so I wouldn't cash. He could come out and win the bumper by miles in a good time with Elliott's other horse on Saturday not doing as well.

Go on then, I'll bite. Is your no. 1 Barry The Butcher?

Yeah though I think he's slightly flattered by his winning margin to Croke Park who had a few traffic problems and got caught flat footed when BTB made his move.

I really like The Gooner but Jonjo will turn him into a handicapper no doubt.

Haha I bet your notes look a bit like mine. When I see a horse gone to Jonjo, it simply says 'Handicap'

                        • American Mike & Better Days Ahead both running on the Friday smells like the owners can't make the Saturday to me.
There are logical reasons why it doesn't matter either way and logical reasons not to jump to conclusions IMO.

I think the reason American Mike is in the 2m6f and not the 2 miler could be that Gordon has a serious 2 mile prospect in there and doesn't want them clashing??

Didn't think of that. That's solid thinking

                              • Is there any inclination that BDA will go over hurdles this year?

Maybe Gordon/Bective are aware of the trends of previous DR meetings and Cheltenham targets so are deliberately shaking things up as to not ruin the price?

All aboard the BDA Bumper/AM Ballymore double!
