  • There was very limited Irish representation in the plate and the grand annual could be worth bearing in mind. This race too heavy Irish trained

                • It may not have mattered to the result but the tactical nous of the jockeys on these irish trained runners would have to be questioned.

Ground looks like hard work and those ridden prominently are performing very well for the most part, yet most of the irish horses in this, pertemps, grand annual etc are held up out the back.

just back whoever is front running in play is probably a good idea.

                  • Shocking year for Jamie Codd, when was the last time he had no winners? One chance left!

                        • City Chief +7 to 142 puts him in a great spot for this.
No idea who Hendo might get to ride him and I assumed he would also have been aiming Mister Coffey here after his unlucky second last year, but City Chief would have a huge chance if coming here...

He's mentioned the Scottish National for Mister Coffey prior to pulling him out of the Skybet the other week.

                              OK thanks, hadn't seen that.
He had a NH Chase entry so they must be considering Cheltenham as an option, I know they expect him to stay 4m but those Scottish Nationals can be brutal, would they want to go straight from small field 3m races to Ayr ?
Hope not, think with the right pilot this is his for the taking...

Ayr was also mentioned for City Chief. That race really suits a Novice
