  • After managing to get on the previous PP special a few times, got significantly less interest in this one:

Al Boum Photo To Win The Gold Cup & Zanahiyr To Win The Triumph Hurdle
    16/1 (NRNB)

You can actually get 16.5/1 elsewhere, without NRNB though.
365 are 15.88/1 for the same double.

Any idea how often they change these specials?

        • I see collumn of fire is racing tomorrow at navan 2mile 4 .. what are his likely cheltenham targets, I would think they may go easy on him tomorrow and perhaps try get his mark of 145 down another couple of pounds?

I’ve thought all year he’d be heading for the Pertemps but he avoided Leopardstown and the only remaining qualifier is Punchestown in 3 weeks so it’s highly possible the Coral Cup is the plan.
He’s rated 145 but I’m sure the UK handicapper will be adding a few pound so another M Pipe bid is out of the question.
I agree tomorrow is probably a leg stretch and the most interesting element of his run tomorrow will be the post race interviews which hopefully will give us a clue on his March target...

interesting, is there a chance that he may not be handicapped or qualified to win anything at cheltenham now , tomorrow is worth 40k euros... could that be tempting or would they still try go after something at chelts?

I think they’d happily forego a 40k January pot for a Cheltenham win.

No-one outside of Elliotts know how good the horse is, I’m convinced he’d had won
that M Pipe with clear daylight between him and his field and with that he’d be a 155 horse and may well have been aiming at the Stayers Hurdle this season, falling at the last and having the rest of the season wiped out has given them a chance to re-think and re-plot, I don’t think it’s any coincidence he hasn’t been seen.
Coral Cup or Pertemps he could win either but as I said previously he has only one shot left at qualifying for the Pertemps so I’ll be listening after tomorrow for clues if that’s the plan....

I hope its rescheduled for Monday or Wednesday, next week, when Ireland has no race meetings.

                    • ....Sky’s 20-1 Gentlemansgame in their a/r market might offer a bit of value for anybody wanting it in their book (only 14-1 with Hills). As low as 16-1 for the AB.

Navan is re-scheduled for Friday, Thurles on Wednesday.

                          • Royal Pagaille (National Hunt Chase), Monkfish (RSA Chase) & Chacun Pour Soi (Champion Chase) All To Win
                            30/1 (it is NRMB)

You can actually get it at 40/1 with WH, but obviously the target isn't certain for Royal Pagaille.

Wouldn't be too upset at having a double on Monkfish and CPS anyway so I can see the appeal here.

Is the appeal simply because they all run in the same colours though ?

My grandad was not that good with his vision.
And his only bets were multiples on khalid abdullah horses cos he could pick out the runners easiest cos of the pink and green.
                              Nothing else mattered.

That is the only appeal with this bet that I can see.

The colours; and they're all warm favourites for their races....

It's not like it's Saldier, Min and Benie Des Dieux

CPS's 'chances' I feel improved this weekend, Monkfish remains the clear one to beat and Royal Pagaille would go off closer to evens...

                                ....and the colours, obviously.
