  • Grand Sancy beat Sceau Royal, so I'm not sure he was on top form first time out this season... but I see your point.

I don't disagree that Melon has a higher level of form, it's purely the fact he struggles to win... so until I see him jumping I'm not backing him.

    He's a bottle job

Draconien still the one, I see you finally got back on board today

I dont like draconien, I avoided him last year, but I had a free bet and wanted something else in the arkle as I believe theres big value to be had. I'll be as happy as anyone if he won the arkle. But would take no credit what so ever. Very happy with the others.

      • Melon has the potential to win this easily ,however Im not convinced he puts it all in every time he runs. He such a in/out performer , when hes good hes very good.

          • Southfield Stone beat on debut, looked more down to fitness than his ability to jump, the winner came through nicely after clattering the first fence hard.

Wonder how long before PN has a re-think at Pic D'Orhy is sent this route.

            • Didn't think he looked a natural over fences though CoD... did you?

Quite a few of PN's are running below par.

                I'm assuming/clinging to that.
                Jumped a bit left mostly.

                • Bar the first fence I didn't see too many major errors myself, not for first time out anyway.

He'll likely improve and be fitter next time, but I'm not convinced he'll be the Nicholls number one over 2m.

Both run style and head carriage.

There was a big debate whether Ho Jo was going to target the Arkle or RSA (no JLT then) with Tidal Bay and from memory he left it very late before committing. He blew them away on the day.

I was at Doncaster for Tidal bay's first run over 2 miles, sent off at 1/4 against nothing of note, and jumped like an idiot. His prep run for the arkle.
He'd won his first three races over 2m 4f plus and always threw in at least one big error.
When at Cheltenham I thought he had no chance and a couple of mates of mine backed him at 10-1, and he just went on a couple out and battered them, jumped pretty well throughout.

I remember the Donny race Q. He hit the last (or second last) and nearly got back up to win.

Tried looking for the 2008 Arkle but can't find it anywhere.

Laurina going chasing.....odds already tumbling.....some 14s still around.....supposed to be on the stable info

Should stress info based on text received by someone on panel, so can’t verify if true

Just on Fridays declaration Paul unlikely to send him out in such high company first time out if they all stand their ground

Odds tumbling? , not been a pence for her from what I can see. PP pushed her out from 8s to 12s 2 days ago for the arkle.
