I see Buveur D'air has jack all to beat in the Fighting Fifth. Bit embarrassing for a G1 tbh.

15.5ls in 3rd of 7, not sure it's that harsh to be uninspired by the race.
It's more an indicator of the 2m division in general.
For all everyone crabbed Elliot leaving Samcro in 2m hurdles last year, something to be commended in my book (for all it didn't work out). The division is bang average + not many are keeping their horses in it, rather go over fences.

It's a crap renewal, and I am now thankful Gordon and co didn't bottle last season, at least they had the balls to make it a good race.

I don't think any of the previously mentioned would get any closer than SS did last season to winning a CH myself.

Yet because hes not trained by hendo or Mullins, and doesn't have the hype of samcro, he's "crap" opposition.
Official ratings last season, 169, 160, 156, 152 & 150
This seasons race, 167, 154, 148, 146, 142, 139 & 127 - the only reason I see a 127 rated animal racing in it is because they can pick up some decent G1 prize money due to a lack of opposition
Maybe it's just a crap, early season race tbh, and we was spoilt last season

It still is a crap race and the 2mile division is in tatters.
