I've not seen Blackbow mentioned for a bit, has Willie said he's a contender?
Would be surprising to see him start a horse in that race regardless of how the grounds been... a grade 1 on debut oiver hurdles would be very rare?
He's definitely done it a couple of times before.
I think that looking at most of the novice hurdle events in Ireland so far, Willie would have every right to think that Gordon's aren't up to much (so far). That's certainly what I've deduced.

This season, the ground has been so quick that he's just happy to get them out when he can as long as he thinks they can cope. He wouldn't normally have multiple runners in maiden hurdles and bumpers but it's likely to be the case for the next few weeks.
Everything is worked back from the spring festivals so, by and large, the ideal is a run in the next couple of weeks and another in the first half of February
Has the option of a pair of Grade 1's. The Future Champions at Leopardtsown on Thursday or wait for the Lawlors of Naas Novice Hurdle. I liked what I saw from him at Punchestown

A nice juvenile who was placed in a french bumper. There are not too many opportunities for her to run in mares races over Christmas so she will probably run in the 3 year old maiden hurdle at Limerick on Wednesday or a similar contest a day later at Limerick
