Mullins tends to avoid big clashes with his best novices in the run up to Cheltenham. Tornado might well turn up, but if he does I'd imagine it'll be because he has one better for the ballymore I.E. Blackbow.
Not sure i agree with much of that but sure!

BOD, was very nice on the eye and won well, but beat absolutely nothing....Why would Mullins hide from that lol

    • He'd already had 2 runs over hurdles before going to naas, WM likes to bring his best on slowly. Let's see what turns up, hope I'm wrong as it will be a very informative clash.

What novice has impressed you more? Not a lot of form we can go on at the moment.

I'd be more confident that Tornado Flyer is a high level horse than BOD- he has the bumper form to prove it...so not sure the slow approach will be used on him as much as say a horse from France with no Ire form..

Visually against very little BOD- but TF to me looked like he had tonnes of improving/learning to do...

            • From irishracing.com:

Mullins — who pinpointed Pat Fahy’s recent winner Dunvegan as potentially the horse to beat — said: “I’m looking at Come To Me, who won well the other day in Cork. Dorrells Pierji has been good all season and he could go there.

“Pat Fahy’s horse Dunvegan was very good the other day and he’s a horse that’s going to take a lot of beating wherever he goes.

“Tornado Flyer won the other day, but I’m not sure I want to go two-and-a-half, I’ll probably stick to two miles.

“Sancta Simona is one that could go that direction, while Getareason, who was second in Navan is another possible, as well as Aramon.

“I’m hoping to be well represented. It’s a real good race, where it sits in the calendar, over two and a half miles at that time of season.”

Interesting Tornado Flyer could likely stay over 2m, had previously put this forward as an option and same owners have Downtown Getaway with Henderson who could come here.

Had earmarked Dunvegan for this race, PP go 33's but I'm just not sure the trainer would turn up to the festival with it to be honest.

                • Thats disappointing to read with regards to TORNADO FLYER. I would want him to be in this race. Have got to win any race 15/1 aswell as knew this maybe the case though, but I'd be less confident staying over 2m.

                  • Surely if Annamix is the real deal Mullins wouldn’t throw Annamix, Quick Grabim and Tornado flyer all at the supreme

He had 4 runners the year Douvan won it, and we know how good he turned out to be. Also had 3 the year Vautour won it.

He likes to have numbers, I genuinely believe he doesn't care which one wins it aslong as he does, but obviously the Ricci ones are seemingly specifically targeted at it.

Edit: also had 3 the year Min ran in it and 4 the year Melon ran in it.

He always has multiple runners, as you point out CoD. He's got so many top class horses that he has to run them against each other in the big race, and why wouldn't he.

                          Interesting comments.

Come To Me the first one he mentioned, only priced up in 3 spots for this race.
The one he thinks they have to beat is only available with 3 bookies too.

For a "real good race" there aren't many "real good horses"?

Don't really understand that Mullins quite about TF saying I am not sure I want to go 2 and half when that is what he won over that the other day. "Ill stick to 2 miles"??? Well dropping back from 2m 4f isn't sticking to 2 miles is it. Mullins bingo well and truly begun!!!
