You sound like meI have given up on this race now. I will just back one of the horses that actually turn up on the day.
For what it’s worth and that’s probably not a lot! I took another look at the Fighting Fifth and came to the conclusion that if Anzadam needed the race there is reason to back him again. He cruised into it and did not deliver - race needed? The picture will be murky all the way up to the race. A few weeks ago i was sooooo close to backing Sir Gino for it before Con Hill's run. Kicking myself but C'est la vie. I will have one more swing and that will be Anzadam to improve a bundle from the Fighting Fifth and then in turn, throwing Sir Gino's participation in doubt![]()
sending him to the Champion Chase.
It's been a right clusterfuck the past couple of years this race. I am constantly searching for updates on Kawaboomga. He would need a run in January and February though if sound. He has the stamina and speed and looks high class. If Brighterdaysahead can save last years Leopardstown peak for Cheltenham, she would be hard to stop and looking at the schedule, it would seem that is how they are doing it. I expect her to get beat on return but i will be watching with interest. She obviously can't jump a fence. 2 years into her chasing career and she still hasn't seen one. The New Lion is still quite short but i suppose could be rolled up...................
I am talking myself into bets here aren't i![]()
Iv been backing a few of the mullins early season flopsFor what it’s worth and that’s probably not a lot! I took another look at the Fighting Fifth and came to the conclusion that if Anzadam needed the race there is reason to back him again. He cruised into it and did not deliver - race needed?
Could actually see anzadam beating lossiemouth on Monday, he's a fast 2 miler and lossie/bda are 2 and half milers. Mullins would love for this to happen so she can go mares!Iv been backing a few of the mullins early season flops
Plenty of them will come on loads for it im sure
That head carriage from anzadam though put me off
He completely dogged it and now has a squiggle next to him in my eyes
Yeah, it’s great to see that.Flipping eck, wins whatever they want, could do both, machine, delighted to see him back.
Got an old ex jock here with us atm CaT, he's been out of the game for a while, bit soured to it to be honest, he was over last night for a few drinks so stayed over, said this morning just stay and watch the racing as there's some proper horses around currently, he's loving it right now, Gino & Wendigo are the two he's seen that'll he wants to cover for the festival.Yeah, it’s great to see that.
Top class racehorses are a pleasure to watch.
Aye you're probably rightChampion hurdle this year, champion chase next, move on![]()

Personally I'd be surprised if they didn't go champion hurdle now, beaten the reigning champion easily and still plenty of time to go chasing. 20/1 golden ace does look a nice price, gotta agree there, especially if they do go chasing with gino.Great to see Sir Gino back and at a good standard. However, 7/4 is a joke of a price. That will be about as far away of a Champion Hurdle as you will get for him. 2m on a fast course on fast ground when able to dictate and beat a strong stayer at the trip. Surprised Henderson even risked him on that ground after a year off and returning from injury. Would be very wary in case he jarred himself. Then Henderson interviewed after still doesn't know if he stays hurdling or go chasing, which is a point if they think he is a better chaser than hurdler. Next run will be where we will hopefully have a better idea...
Golden Ace out to 20/1 is also a cracking price if not already on. Looked clearly outpaced on the course and ground in the closing stages and jockey wasn't too hard on her. Connections will be pleased with another nice bit of prize money for her without having a hard race.
