2026 Champion Hurdle

BigL u will lose then , sir gino is on a par with constitution hill when he was at his best imo and if Nicky runs him he will win
Because he is better after his injury than before it? What can you tell us about the lasting effects of that injury as you clearly know more about him than we all do...

I'm guessing Brighterdaysahead has been supplemented for the December hurdle as she has appeared in the latest entries released today.
She is 4-1 in a couple of places but more interestingly is 10/3 with ladbrokes with 3 places for the each way.

Considering who is likely to turn up I'd say that's a decent price, especially given her form over that track last year and Lossie's form on a sharper track.
The Leopardstown track is usually a bit sharper at xmas than it is for the Dublin festival which is why Sharjah always ran better at xmas as they fuck around with the rails etc.

Think Elliot likely to run Casheldale Lad and he'll likely set the pace to suit.

Then the other runners all look shite.

I'd be 16-1 bar I reckon
El Fabiolo - who looks like a horse that will balloon his hurdles
Irancy ?
Winter Fog ?
Futurem Regem ????
Hello Neighbour ?

I'd expect Wodhooh, Anzadam won't be declared.
So in theory we might get 8 declared anyhow, but I doubt she'd still be 10/3 if the 2 above don't run as expected.

Hes done nothing within a stone of con hill at his best yet
2-3 stone

Constitution Hills CH win over Stateman was a 180+ performance in my opinion (on a line through Vauban it's not unreasonable). Sir Gino is all hype, and while he might live up to it his win over ballyburn should be downgraded considerably

Just have to wait and see with Sir Gino.
He’s no price, had setbacks, been a sick horse.
I have no doubt he’s good, possibly very very good before the issues.
Now he needs a top performance.

Looks like Ladbrokes have took the market down but Coral still have it up. I like the 16/1 Irancy in this situation. Last run was too bad to be true, better must be expected to keep him in this grade yet seems priced otherwise. If getting 3 places then I make him more of a 10/1 chance.

I’m assuming you’re at the wind up with this?!

As others have said he’s at least a couple stone away from Constitution Hill at this point in their careers.

Alexei...

“He ran a lovely race, Wilful was actually the horse I was most worried about with their Welsh Champion Hurdle form (third behind Alexei) and the big turnaround in the weights,” said Tizzard.

“I thought he travelled really well into the race and then the weight just took its toll which probably cost us second, but we were very happy with the run on what was perhaps not the nicest ground.”

The Grade Two Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton next year is an early 2026 target, marking a move into more exalted company for the five-year-old.

“He’s just got better and better with racing, and with the way he travelled, I think he’s not going to find the pace of a graded race a problem,” added Tizzard.

“We thought we’d head now for the Kingwell in February, and then he’ll have entries for everything in all the big Festivals.

“He’s been great fun so far, to win at Ascot and then win the Greatwood and then run a very solid race on Saturday. We’re having a great time with this horse and long may it continue.”

Surely he’s no Rooster? 🐓

Doubt it but he did run a career best again on Saturday. Beat all the Greatwood runners again easily even with the extra weight burden. The 20lb pull that Wilful got was just too much and the 2nd horse also had really good back form (4th in Fred Winter and 4th to a top French juvenile at Chepstow). He deserves a shot in Graded company. The Welsh Champion Hurdle form is proving very, very good and fits in with the Wodhooh form. Celtic Dino could give it an extra boost in the Xmas Hurdle.

Awful that Lossie is as short as 7/4 antepost with some big firms for this and yet over 5/1 on the exchange. Ruining potential roll up opportunities over Christmas.

She has drifted a little for some firms and firmed up in the mares a little yesterday.

She has drifted a little for some firms and firmed up in the mares a little yesterday.

This is going to happen constantly over the next 2-3 months!

She wins at Leopardstown she'll come back in for the Champion Hurdle, then at some point doubts will creep in that Mullins has the bottle to run her in the right race that her Champion Hurdle price will take a walk and the Mares Hurdle is the target, and then you've got the 'manipulators' whether putting incorrect information out there on social media or playing games on the exchanges.

Unfortunately ante post has never been more difficult to keep track of, IMO.

Sir Gino declared, as expected, for the Christmas Hurdle.

Anzadam not declared for Xmas Hurdle

Not sure he’s in the picture anymore?
Surely he should have won the FF the way the race panned out , everything went his way.
Don’t look good enough imo.
couldnt see Gino and Anza running in the same race till the CH if even then,
