  • So, Diego Velazquez set to make his debut on Saturday. 20/1 for The Derby. Take it or watch and re-assess?

    • Many interesting tidbits here: https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...preview/211445

There's an update on Paddington as he prepares to bid for a remarkable fifth Group One win in succession in the ?1million Juddmonte International but he's in deep this time against the likes of Mostahdaf and Desert Crown.

Positive noises too around Savethelastdance in the Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks and a possible three-pronged attack on the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur. Alexandroupolis is among that trio - is he a dark horse for the Betfred St Leger?

Updates elsewhere on other stable stars with City Of Troy potentially set to run on the dirt at Santa Anita in the autumn before being brought back for a Triple Crown campaign in Europe next season.

And Kyprios is progressing well, the star stayer could be ready to return in the Irish St Leger.

      • Thanks for posting SS.....

Interesting that AOB and in particular Ryan Moore think that Ace Impacts French Derby winning form could be suspect.

It also very much sounds that the Arc is a distinct possibility for Paddington. That would top an incredible run of results and put him right up there with the best ever if he could win.

Sea of blue this morning – trying to see if anything has been said but can't find anything?

He's more Derby than guineas for sure imo. Had to get him covered before the race. Was impressed with him, further he went the better once he knew what was going on.

Unlikely to run now. He and Second fav likely to be split. Could be supplemented for Irish Champion.

                    • LEGACIES Cox Plate 100/1 b365 No Cash out

Lightly raced as a 2yo ( 2 from 2 ), this exciting daughter of Justify kick's off her 3yo campaign tomorrow in a tough race at Caulfield, interested to see how she gets on but really expecting her to improve as the season progresses.

I don't know Lobos tbh but she does have a Cox Plate entry.

She's also 4/1 favourite for the Flight Stakes at the end of September if that's where they decide to go, could go Golden Rose though. I've backed her for that race along with Autumn Ballet who's also running tomorrow.

                          • I'm already on big rock for the QE2 but the 10s he currently is could be very much worth taking before the moulin tomorrow

I'd be pretty dissapointed if he didn't win

And given his run style there's half a chance he destroys them though I'm perhaps getting carried away saying that

                            • He's just not that good Big Rock. I got caught out with the hype before Ace Impact put him in his place. Thinking he was a massive improver and not knowing where the limit was. But for me he's peaked and just isn't really a top G1 performer.

                              • Big rock was a big flop

Just doesn't have the speed at the end of the race to win a group 1 it seems even one as poor as today

He'd need the ground to be heavy to win a group 1 at a mile I'd say
