Had a glance at the entries today.
Obviously a lot of very nicely bred 2 year olds entered in the Coventry Stakes.

But one that caught my eye was the unraced Colt - DARVEL

Trained by K Ryan and out of Dark Angel & Anthem Alexander (starspangledbanner)

He is owned by one of the Sheiks, Yellow with black dots, who buys some nice horses.

A Big ask first time out to win a group 2 (if declared), but lets face it, he'll be running against just maiden winners mainly (like most of the 2 yr old races).

I'll be waiting for Dec's on Wednesday as there has to be a big chance he don't run.
But if he does then he's interesting. I reckon.

PS. Unlikely to get gambled on so hold any bets.

Really thought Swindler would miss the cut by a good 6/7 being stuck on 96 for the Wokingham, he's number 26 and a max of 24 get in so he will be a reserve at worst. He acts better at Ascot than anywhere he's tried and could easily be rated 8-10lbs higher come the end of the season. Yes he's JF 8/1 but if he gets the run (4 not jocked up above him) could easily be going off 4/1 and would have a favs chance!

Having said that two of the above have run today so he should get in no problem! unproven if it turns to soft but judging by the times today especially Battaash effort if wasn't good to soft today at any point. Oisin booked i think he will shorten plenty when decs are confirmed tomorrow.

Good shout Outlaw... having jumped Agrotera 2 years ago, been waiting for another Neilson gamble, so can’t resist this.

Shows how much i dabble in the flat i hadn't spotted that Morley I have seemingly followed the horse/watched him in his last 4 runs and i do think he will be a good bit better by then end of the season. All things considered thou jockey, carrying no weight, horse loves the course and a previous winning owner with same trainer plenty of boxes being ticked.

He's somehow been balloted out by 1 I've just read and has ended up top weight in the consolation. Void stakes due to balloting ,but I'm amazed he's missed out will go through later and figure who been declared that I thought wouldn't given two ran yday

Mr Ryan has declared Hey Jonsey the bugger so that's why, you'd think given so much racing has been missed that horses could only run in one race this meeting given the circumstances.

That’s annoying but at least no harm done as far as stakes are concerned... have you seen a price for him for the consolation race?

No not yet, he's lost Oisin (Atzeni hardly a negative) drawn in 2 thou so you'd want at least 13/2 off top weight/draw imo even in a perceived(weaker race) really frustrating all round.

How much of a problem do you think the 2 draw might be?

Very narrow weight band in the silver wokingham and nothing stands out too much as being well handicapped so gone with two so far that have good big field handicap form on the track.

Blue Mist 2pt 9-1 (still available with B365)
Open Wide 1ptew 25-1 6places (give him another chance)

Silver Wokingham first race i am keen on the chances of EMBOUR. Ryan Moore rode him over 5f at donny Sunday and gave him an easy time. That should of blown the cobwebs away and they have replaced Moore with the promising Thore Hammer Hansen taking off an important 5 pound. It doesn’t matter what the weather does as he will go on any ground and drawn high, whether that’s still the place to be come Saturday I’m not sure. Personally I think he’s very nicely handicapped so have taken the 20/1 available with William Hill.

Definitely favours high draws on the straight course for most of the 5-day meeting.

I’d need to check out stalls positioning for Saturday, and also if the rails are moved to give fresh ground on the far side (low draws) on the Friday and/or Saturday.

Strangely in the Racing Post POSTDATA the Silver Wokingham and the Wokingham gives the eight lowest draws the advantage over the rest of the field.
Previous Wokingham winners don’t suggest this advantage though.
