As said earlier, wouldnt surprise me if he finished ahead of Ile Atlantique on spring ground at the festival!
be in the Arkle.
Trainer saying next race could be 2m or 2m5 depending on ground.
I’m taking from that he’s only going 2m if soft ground.

at least softer than good, its pretty much a certainty to be on the soft side or worse.

Mullins seems to have this belief that if a horse has a good cruising speed but not a turn of foot then that means they want 3m +, I've noticed it a few times now with ile atlantique, tullyhill, embassy gardens etc. He tries to turn them into stayers, when really the best thing to do is just let them bowl along over a shorter trip and put that cruising speed to use.

Have watched the racing back again which is always a good thing to do. Ile Atlantique really is a very good jumper. Very quick and neat from A to B. Gained in the air at every fence. Really quickened from the last to the line as well which was pleasing in what was probably the deepest Novice Chase this season. His run can be marked up as well as Paul went widest all the way around in search of better ground and still won easily. He's definitely a player in the Arkle.
