Of course! Hard to imagine it being a winter bog though, like today!

As said earlier, wouldnt surprise me if he finished ahead of Ile Atlantique on spring ground at the festival!
If it’s spring ground I don’t think IA will
      be in the Arkle.
Trainer saying next race could be 2m or 2m5 depending on ground.
I’m taking from that he’s only going 2m if soft ground.

arkle is going to be soft enough
at least softer than good, its pretty much a certainty to be on the soft side or worse.

I think they're probably coming around to the idea that he's a two miler now finally which he always has been imo. Mullins seems to have this belief that if a horse has a good cruising speed but not a turn of foot then that means they want 3m +, I've noticed it a few times now with ile atlantique, tullyhill, embassy gardens etc. He tries to turn them into stayers, when really the best thing to do is just let them bowl along over a shorter trip and put that cruising speed to use.

Maybe, but why mention going 2m5 as a possibility for his next race if the Arkle is the target?

I think he's just acknowledging that he has the option to run over both trips if needed, as he has won over both, but he finished by saying ile atlantique will maybe go with majborough to the 2m race, and that he has a few for the longer race, including ballyburn who he said he'd imagine will go that way.

Will be a good clash and the winner will be short priced fav for the BANC if impressive

                          • Have watched the racing back again which is always a good thing to do. Ile Atlantique really is a very good jumper. Very quick and neat from A to B. Gained in the air at every fence. Really quickened from the last to the line as well which was pleasing in what was probably the deepest Novice Chase this season. His run can be marked up as well as Paul went widest all the way around in search of better ground and still won easily. He's definitely a player in the Arkle.
