  • The issue antepost with Banbridge is he won’t turn up if it’s soft. I think Saint Roi back out to 50/1 now with B365 makes plenty of sense as he only has 1.5 lengths to find on Banbridge from Aintree run.

Saint Roi was only out for effectively a racecourse gallop the last day too he had, he needs stepping up & will be put into a race next time out.

    • Simply think Saint Roi isn't up to the standard of a Ryanair, especially this season's which is beginning to look red hot. He doesn't jump well enough either.

He was only 6 lengths behind Jonbon in the Arkle last year then despite having had a very hard race he ran a fresh Banbridge very close in the Manifesto where a certain Stage Star finished tailed off last. He was over the hill at Punchestown & as I said previously Navan was just a pipe opener. He most definitely is “up to the standard of a Ryanair”. 50/1 with a cash out firm is value.

        • 50/1 EW perhaps but you'd be wanting 4 places and then you'd be throwing away your win stake. He's a long way behind winning it imo. Might they be looking at a handicap with him ??

You didn’t give Appreciate It a prayer in here a few weeks ago. Some context has to be taken into consideration about end of season & first time out runs imo.

Fwiw I have backed Saint Roi e/w

Wouldn't put you off him at all, breeding suggests he'd be better over further and as you mention the form is strong. My only worry is the jumping, but if that improves he's one that you can see staying on late. The fact he was able to keep tabs in an Arkle would suggest he can at least remain in striking distance in a Ryanair.

Still have plenty in front of AI as do the bookies for good reason. He has lots to find with Stage Star and Notlongtilmay from the Turners and Envoi and potentially Allaho if back to somewhere near his best would all be ahead of him. I still can't have him at all.

We’ll agree to disagree so. His RPR will be interesting today!

The race does look set up to be a fiercely run affair, if an out and out stayer was able to somehow latch on to them, something closing could have a say, although my gut feeling is the race might already be over by that point. One or two upfront will fold, but I think one will be able to keep going. If Allaho retains the same level of ability then he has that stamina to see it through, the others that will be handy, I'm not 100% sure.
If Allaho is as good as he was when winning this, then yes he will see it through, but there’s definitely a ? with him.
It will be interesting to see how Stage Star copes with challengers up front.
EA won’t be far behind the front runners, and this is his ideal distance imo.
Its becoming quiet a fascinating race.

He'll have had bigger in his time.

Agree it may suit something sitting off them and none more so than Envoi.

I’d be surprised if so, he just split the two of the best staying chasers in Ireland.

Highest OR over Hurdles was 160 so possible he may get higher than that .

I don't think coping will be an issue, he sent Min into retirement.

A lot of water under the bridge since then though. Still big Q marks about him for me.
