She's entered at Ascot Friday too! Clearly keen to get her out... Lets hope temps have got a bit milder by the end of the week

As Eggs rightly pointed out Mares have their own thread so moved this here. Bloody women pft!

Gordon Elliott’s Halka Du Tabert followed up a bumper win by making most of the running in the Care At Home Services Mares Maiden Hurdle under Jack Kennedy.

Mullins’ Eabha Grace was the evens favourite but having briefly looked a threat, she had no answer to the 5-2 winner close home, going down by 11 lengths.

“She’s a nice mare. She has a good, high cruising speed but just gallops at the back of it and I told Jack to make plenty of use of her today,” said Elliott.

“I liked from the second last to the line the way she galloped. I’d say she’s smart.

“She might go next for the Solerina in Fairyhouse at the end of January.”

            ….14-1 now.

Deeply Superficial out to 12-1 after defeat today, I wonder how they stack in the Elliott pecking order.

Will be giving the Elliott mare a miss. The race will be won by one of Nicky's or, hopefully Henry's this season. Willie can take 3rd.

I’m going to stick my neck out like every year. I don’t like point to point mares for the MNH.

That's fair enough, although I don't think that's a completely wise move considering the race has only been run 7 times and won 5 times by Willie French imports. 1 PTP winner out the 7 does back your opinion up somewhat though.

This mare did beat the horse that finished 2nd to Luccia quite comfortably though, so I don't think you can completely discount her. Especially considering Luccia got 10lb that day which most certainly would have helped in what I can only describe as potato field conditions. Form line is a bit messy though obviously.

Brandy Love would possibly have added to the PTP tally if she’d made it last festival.

Honeysuckle might have had a chance also.

16pts 7/2 NRNB I had on her and she got injured.
And to think Lobos thinks he's her No1 fan.

                      I thought she was unbeatable.

Ah yeah that's a good point, BL would have been competitive in last years renewal for sure.

In hindsight 7/2 was buying money if she’d turned up. It was a wank renewal that year as well.

Yeah, everyone was harping on about Willie having mares in his cupboard, but she won the Solerina pulling a train.

The mares in the cupboard did win it though at massive prices, as I also missed backing Eglantine at triple figures, but backed most of his others instead.
Epatante, Black Tears, Concertista, indefatigible, all ran though, so not that bad a renewal.

What’s Willie doing with ashroe diamond? Not the typical route to the mares novice hurdle.
