I see Between Waters doesn't have any entries again though
Ashroe Would have would that but much further if she wasn't boxed in coming into and down the straight. Deservedly the best of Willies lot in this race and being second fav

It wasn't the best ride, but slightly disappointing to be honest, I'd have liked him to kick on and draw the sting out of Ashroe. Not completely out the equation though and now gets weight at Cheltenham, only needs to find a few lengths.

I couldn't see any whip used but she was likely getting done for speed by Ashroe Diamond no matter what. Not getting rid of my MNH bets on her but think it's just a blind bit of hope now on my part.

yeah i'm happy that if she lines up in the mares hurdle she still wins but he didn't ride her how i would've expected. maybe i'm a bit crazy but maybe winning wasn't the plan, a run round fairyhouse to get familiar for the grade 1 there, but not to incur a 5lb penalty, ever the optimist but that was a shit ride.

              • AD is going to have to carry a 5lbs penalty now. Looks like Davy and Gordon were very aware of that today.

Yep. Strange ride, to the eye, but makes sense not to have that penalty going into the race at Cheltenham.

With a bit of luck he'll use HDT's stamina and go a bit quicker at the festival too.

But she still looks a way ahead of anything else we've seen this season. She's the one to beat without a doubt. Only a few lengths behind Vega. That plenty good enough to win the MNH isn't it?

Jetara was only 1 1/4L behind her and now gets 5lb for that. Only had 2 runs over hurdles aswell so arguably open to more improvement, she was the must bet at 25/1 that Q highlighted.

Nothing much between ashore and jetara today, if you take the form literally high definition has about 6l to find on facile Vega, which he could make up given it was his first run over hurdles and he kept going to his right. If they can sort that out he could push facile very close, the 20/1 for him in the supreme is a good price imo.

as for the mares novice I think jetara would have been just as inconvenienced by the slow pace as ashroe today, if not more. Ashroe was held up off the pace but didn’t look the strongest finisher in the bond, so a sprint could have been right up her street. Jetara doesn’t look short of stamina, as alluded to by her trainer, with the 5lb penalty taken into account I think the price difference is too big between those two.

….a good race to watch again. I tend to agree, I think AD was better value for that win than the distance suggests. All over the leaders going to the last, just took a bit to get into her stride but she was the one going away at the line.

                          • I don't believe any of you think Jetara will beat Ashroe Diamond at the Fez but good if you do as it'll keep her price a decent value if you do.

She’s less experienced over hurdles than ashroe, will be getting 5lbs next time, and was only beat just over a length? I think there’s plenty of reason to think the form can be turned around. As for who would be better suited by a stronger pace is anyone’s guess, you could make a case for both preferring it.

ashroe should be shorter than jetara of course as she’s beaten her today, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could throw a blanket over the two of them and halka du tabert at the cheltenham finishing line.

                              • Backed AD accordingly after watching her today. Everything else will need to step up to beat her now. Going in before her price sinks.
